Boards For Machines That Run Continuously
Industrial control boards are judged on whether they are still working in five years. They sit in cabinets that get hot, carry field wiring tightened by hand, switch inductive loads and get pulled out for service. PEAK PCB has supplied boards into industrial control since 2000.
What Actually Fails In Industrial Control
Four failure modes specific to this sector, and the published figure that each one is controlled by.
Field wiring loads
Terminal blocks are tightened with a screwdriver, and that torque goes into the pad. Plated hole wall thickness of 0.025 mm is what keeps the barrel intact.
Cabinet temperature
Control cabinets run warm. Laminate rated 94V-0 with a verified isolation resistance above 10 to the power 12 ohms is the baseline.
Service access
Boards get removed and re-seated. Electroplated gold on edge fingers survives that; immersion gold does not.
Mixed voltages
Logic and field sides on one board need real separation, which is a layout decision backed by published dielectric figures.
Boards We Build For This Sector
Boards for this sector usually run as two or six layer rigid builds with lead-free HASL, assembled in the same plant. Where the board carries a motor drive stage, the aluminium range takes over the thermal load.

Industrial Control Questions
Can you build boards that meet control panel flammability requirements?
The rigid laminate is 94V-0 self-extinguishing, and the aluminium laminate is rated FV-0 on GB/T4722.
Do you supply boards with terminal blocks fitted?
Yes. Tell us which parts ship fitted and which ship loose.
What layer counts do industrial control boards usually need?
Two and six layer builds cover most of it. Boards with a fine pitch processor move to four layers.
