Boards Built And Assembled In The Same Plant

Surface mount and through-hole assembly on rigid, aluminium and flexible circuits, carried out in the plant that fabricated the bare board. One supplier decides the surface finish, the panel format and the reflow route together.

The problem

What This Family Is For

Splitting fabrication and assembly between two suppliers creates a seam, and defects fall into it. The fabricator says the board met specification, the assembler says the board was not solderable, and the buyer is left holding a batch nobody will take back. Building both in one plant removes the argument: the surface finish, the panel format and the thermal profile are all decided by the same people, and one party is responsible for the finished unit.

Who it suits

Who Buys PCBA From Us

  • OEMs currently splitting fabrication and assembly between two vendors
  • Machine builders developing their own controller boards
  • Power and lighting product manufacturers with mixed process assemblies
  • Product teams moving a prototype into repeatable production
Where it goes

Typical Applications

  • Interface and I/O boards with heavy connector loading
  • Embedded controllers with fine pitch processors and card sockets
  • Power converters combining machine placement with hand-wound parts
  • Flexible and rigid flex assemblies that need carriers through reflow
Core advantages

Four Reasons This Family Is Built Here

Each point below is backed by a figure from the published capability tables rather than by a claim.

  • One responsible supplier. The plant that etched the board also placed the parts, so no defect can be handed across a supplier boundary.
  • Rigid, aluminium and flex assembly. All three substrate families are assembled here, including the carriers that flexible circuits need through reflow.
  • Mixed technology builds. Surface mount, through-hole, hand-fitted magnetics and mechanical parts planned as one route rather than three.
  • Bare board testing first. Open and short testing at 50 to 300 V before any component is placed, so assembly labour is never spent on a bad board.
Questions

PCBA Questions

Do you buy the components or do I supply them?

Both. Send the bill of materials with approved manufacturer part numbers and tell us which lines you want to consign.

Can you assemble flexible circuits?

Yes. Flex assemblies are part of the catalogue and are carried flat through reflow in tooling made for the part.

Will you assemble boards fabricated elsewhere?

Tell us what you have and we will quote it, though most customers find one supplier for both simpler.

What testing is included?

Bare board open and short testing at 50 to 300 V is standard. Functional test is quoted against your test specification.

Can you programme devices during assembly?

Supply the firmware image and the programming method and we will confirm what the line supports.
