When a riser has to deliver sixty voice pairs, running sixty individual cables is not an option. Multi-pair CAT3 puts them in one sheath with a consistent colour code, which is why it is still specified for voice distribution, door entry and low-speed signalling long after Ethernet took over the data side.

Which pair counts do you hold?

2, 10, 20, 25, 30, 50 and 100 pair are in the current range. Intermediate counts up to 100 pair are made to order.

Indoor or outdoor jacket?

PVC for internal risers and containment. PE for external duct, direct burial routes and aerial spans where UV and moisture are the risk.

Can CAT3 carry Ethernet?

10BASE-T only, and not reliably on a modern network. For anything carrying Ethernet, specify CAT5e or above.
