Custom Cable Engineering

Catalogue cable covers most projects. When it does not — an unusual core count, a specific jacket material, a colour code nobody else stocks — the question is whether the factory can build it without a tooling programme. Usually it can.

The Process

From First Enquiry To Repeat Supply

Requirement review

You send the spec sheet or drawing. We review conductor, insulation, screening, jacket and print against what the lines can produce.

We say no at this stage if the build is outside our process, rather than after you have paid for it.

Material selection

PE, PVC, HDPE, FEP or LSZH insulation and jacket, bare copper or CCA conductor, foil and braid screening options.

Diameters from 0.4 mm patch cord conductors up to 25 mm power cable.

Prototype

A short prototype length is produced for dimensional and electrical checking before the run is scheduled.

This is where a spec problem is cheap to fix.

Validation

Continuity, resistance, dielectric and — for LAN cable — channel testing against the target specification.

Results are recorded against the prototype lot.

Production

The validated build runs at volume on the same equipment and formulation.

Production quantity and schedule are agreed at this point.

Ongoing supply

The approved build becomes a held specification for repeat orders.

Repeat orders run against the original approved reference.
