Patch Cord Assembly & Testing

A patch cord is a small assembly with a lot of ways to go wrong: conductor sequence, untwist length behind the plug, contact seating, strain relief. Testing every lot on a Fluke DSX is how you find those before they reach a live rack.

Cable selection

Cords are built from the same bulk cable specifications we manufacture, so conductor and screen are known quantities.

Bare copper or CCA, stated on the order.

Termination

Gold-plated RJ45 8P8C plugs terminated with controlled untwist length behind the contact block.

Untwist length is where most field-terminated cords lose their margin.

Boot and strain relief

Boot profile selected for the panel density the cords will be used in.

Slim boots for high-density panels, standard boots elsewhere.

Fluke channel certification

Every lot is channel certified on a Fluke DSX series tester rather than sample-checked.

Lot test data can be supplied with the shipment.

Labelling and bagging

Colour coding, bag printing, header cards and labels to your specification.

Retail packs and bulk trade packs both handled.

Despatch

Packed by length and colour so the rack build does not start with a sort.

Every lot is Fluke DSX channel certified. Lot-level test data is available with the shipment on request.

Which lengths and categories are available?

CAT5e from 1 m to 20 m and CAT6 from 1 m to 50 m in the current range. Other lengths are made to order.

Can cords ship in our own packaging?

Yes. Bag printing, header cards, labels and colour selection are all set per order.
