What We Make

Input Devices Built for Terminals That Cannot Be Babysat

Rugged metal input devices: stainless steel keyboards, numeric and matrix keypads, encrypting pin pads, trackballs, touchpads, silicone and membrane keypads, and the panel hardware they mount into.

Who We Serve

Equipment Builders Who Cannot Send An Engineer Every Month

OEMs and integrators building kiosks, ATMs and payment terminals, parking and toll lanes, fuel dispensers, access control doors, medical carts and industrial control cabinets.

What Problem We Solve

Where Ordinary Keyboards Fail In The Field

Consumer keyboards fail in the field. Dust, washdown, oil, vandalism, UV and constant public use kill them, and every failure is a site visit. Our devices are sealed, panel mounted and built from 304 stainless steel so the input device stops being the weak point of the terminal.

Keys Fail After A Wash Down

Membrane and plastic assemblies let water past the key edge. Our panels are sealed at the front face and rated to IP65 and above on the models where that rating is stated, so cleaning does not end in a service call.

Public Terminals Get Abused

Kiosks, ATMs and parking lanes are used by everyone, including people who are angry at the machine. A 304 stainless steel front panel with etched legends resists prying, scratching and impact in a way printed plastic cannot.

Legends Wear Off

Silk screened characters rub away under gloves and grit. Laser etching cuts the character into the steel, so the layout is still readable years into service.

The Host Board Will Not Recognise It

Industrial motherboards differ. We supply USB HID, PS/2, RS232, RS485, TTL, I2C and raw matrix output so the keyboard matches the controller you already designed around.

Nobody Will Make A Small Custom Run

Because the mold library and the sheet metal line are ours, a changed key count, panel cutout or legend set is a modification of existing tooling rather than a new program.

Operators Cannot See The Keys

Fuel forecourts at night, control rooms on dim shifts and outdoor gates all need backlighting. Backlit stainless models are available in several colours and brightness levels.

Why Customers Choose Us

The Tooling And The Metalwork Are Both Ours

We have been making only industrial input devices since 1995, in our own 4,500 m2 factory, with over 1,000 mold sets already cut. That means a custom layout is usually a modification rather than new tooling, and you deal with the people who actually make the part.

Sheet Metal And Laser Cutting
Panels are laser cut and bent in house, with cutting accuracy to 0.05mm and bending accuracy to 0.10mm on our sheet metal line.
Operator running a CNC machine tool at the KEYU factory
CNC Machining
Trackball housings, bezels and mounting hardware are machined in house rather than bought in, which keeps fit and finish consistent across a production run.
Custom stainless steel and membrane keypad panels produced by KEYU
Custom Panel Development
Layouts, key counts, legends, Braille, colours and cutouts are developed from your drawing and proven on a sample before tooling is committed.
KEYU factory processes and product test report certificates
Test And Documentation
Finished models are supported with test reports covering ISO 9001, IP67, RoHS, CE, SGS and FCC as applicable to the model concerned.
How An Order Runs

From First Enquiry To Mass Production

The same four steps whether the part is a catalogue model or a new panel developed from your drawing.

Communication Of Needs

Key count, interface, cable length, keyboard size, mounting method, colour, backlight and Braille requirements are agreed first. Commonly specified key counts are 16, 20 and 24 for keypads and 61 to 107 for full keyboards.

Standard Or Custom

Where a catalogue model fits, we say so — it is faster and cheaper. Where it does not, sample development and design start from the requirements agreed in step one.

Sample Confirmation

A sample is produced and tested, then shipped for your own testing. Change requests are fed back into another sample round until the part is right.

Mass Production

Production runs against the approved sample, with packing and shipping arranged to your forwarder or ours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?
We are the manufacturer. Shenzhen KEYU Co., Ltd has built industrial input devices since 1995 in our own 4,500 square metre factory in Bao'an District, Shenzhen, with CNC machining and sheet metal processing in house.
Can you build a keyboard to our drawing?
Yes. Send the drawing by email or WhatsApp and our engineers will review the panel cutout, key layout, legends and interface, then quote against it. Where the drawing is incomplete we will tell you exactly which dimensions or electrical details are still needed.
Which interfaces can you supply?
USB HID, PS/2, RS232, RS485, TTL, I2C and raw matrix scanning output. The interface is chosen per project so the keyboard works with the controller you already use.
What key counts are available?
Keypads are commonly 12, 16, 20 and 24 keys. Full keyboards are commonly 61, 83, 87, 104 and 107 keys. Other key counts can be built to order.
What approvals do your products carry?
Depending on the model, products are supported by CE, RoHS, FCC, EMC, IP65 to IP67, IK07 and BIS documentation, and our sheet metal processing runs under an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. Ask for the specific test reports held for the model you are considering.
Can the legends be etched rather than printed?
Yes. Laser etching is standard on stainless steel panels, and etched content can be customised to your requirement including Braille layouts.
Do you supply samples before a production order?
Yes. Sample production and testing is a formal step in our order process. The sample is tested here, shipped for your own testing, and revised if you request changes before mass production starts.

Send Us The Requirement And We Will Tell You What It Takes

Key count, interface, mounting method and environment are enough for a first answer. Drawings are welcome.
