Product Overview
The LWD series is the piglet floor. It keeps the same 600 mm module and the same beam-mounting method as the LW slat, but the gap is narrower and the ribs sit closer together, so a young foot lands on plastic rather than in an opening.
Spans run from 400 to 700 mm, which covers nursery pens that are wider than a standard grow-finish bay. The LWD6060C closed-edge panel finishes the run at a wall. Panels are moulded in blue and green as standard.

Foot protection in the first weeks
A narrower gap and denser ribs support the small, soft claw of a weaned piglet and reduce splay and lameness caused by an over-open floor.

Materials and Manufacturing
Injection-moulded polypropylene. The LWD Fine-Gap Plastic Slat is injection-moulded on JGM's own presses in Ningbo. Polypropylene granulate is dried, dosed and shot into a steel tool, so the part that leaves the press is the part the tool was cut for — there is no secondary forming stage where the dimension can drift. Colour is added as masterbatch at the press, which is why colour goes all the way through the part instead of sitting on it as a coating.

Installing and Running It
Step 1
Confirm the beam centre from the code — LWD6070 needs support at 700 mm, LWD6040 at 400 mm.
Step 2
Run panels across the pen so the rib direction crosses the animal's line of travel.
Step 3
Close the wall edge with LWD6060C so there is no gap between floor and wall.
Step 4
Check the pen for trapped feed after the first week and adjust the drinker height rather than widening the floor gap.

Is the LWD gap narrow enough for newborn piglets?
The LWD gap is sized for weaned and nursery pigs. For the farrowing crate itself, ask about the waterdrop LWS pattern or a cast-iron insert under the sow.
What colours are standard?
Blue and green are the standard mouldings; other colours are produced to customer requirement.
Can LWD panels sit on the same beams as LW panels?
Yes — the module and edge profile match, so the same FRP or concrete beam layout carries both as long as the span matches the code.
How many LWD6040 fit a 40 ft container?
Around 5,500 pieces in a standard 40 ft and about 6,300 in a 40 ft high cube, packed 4 pieces per bag.
