What Makes This Part Family Hard
On a clear cuvette, filter chamber or valve body, every feature of the cavity becomes a feature of the product. Polishing marks read through the wall, weld lines cross viewing windows, and a slotted filter wall is a short-shot risk on every shot.
Customer names and program data are not published. What follows is how we take tooling of this type, and the photographs are of our own work.
How We Take It
Mirror finish as a specified outcome
The cavity face is finished to a mirror polish and the surface finish review sits inside the DFM.
Steel qualified before it is cut
Incoming material inspection, steel hardness inspection and steel certification precede machining.
Electrodes checked before they burn
Electrode dimension and surface finish are inspected before EDM, because a marked electrode marks the cavity.
Dimensional evidence at trial
The mold trial is issued with a sample dimension report so first-article data exists before production.
