Mold Design DFM MoldFlow and Mold Making
Four capabilities that decide whether a tool runs. This is what each one covers at JEC Mold.
Mold Design
Our mold design team is experienced and skilled with more than ten years of knowledge in global mold design for European, North American and Asian customers. Our senior designers are capable of reading customer standards and special requirements in English. Professional detailed mold design is the key to a superior mold.
- Design follows your special requirement or a normal global standard such as DME, Meusburger, HASCO, Progressive or MISUMI
- 3D mold design issued in STEP, IGES, Parasolid, CATIA or SolidWorks
- Design is 100% completed with details and checked in design review meetings before it is sent to you
- For complex molds a motion simulation proves the structure, showing the movements from open to close step by step

DFM Study
We make a professional DFM study for all of our molds and submit the detailed DFM to customers to get their comments. A normal JEC DFM study contains the items below.
- Basic project and product information (part number and name, steel material and resin material, injection machine specification)
- Injection system with detailed pictures of the gating for the part
- Main mold layout showing the dimensions of the mold
- Product main parting lines and split lines of the inserts
- Draft angle analysis and product thickness study
- Ejection layout and concept
- Cooling sketch layout
- Product surface finish review
- Part and steel tolerance review
- Any other customer requirements you raise
MoldFlow Study
We apply a practical MoldFlow study for mass production molds to keep good quality and to avoid potential defects and risks in advance. We make a full analysis in four stages.
- Filling
Where the cavity fills last and where the flow fronts meet.
- Packing
How pressure is held, and where sink risk remains.
- Warpage
How the part moves as it cools, and what that does to fit.
- Cooling
Where heat leaves the tool, and how the layout should follow.

Mold Making
We are a professional mold-making factory dating from 2011. Mold-making is our main business at ninety percent, with ten percent injection production. We are fully equipped with advanced CNC, EDM, grinding and CMM machines. Over the past years we have built many complex and precision molds for automotive, equipment appliance and medical work.

Equipment and Services
- CNC machining centers for cavity, core and plate work
- EDM with electrode dimension and surface finish inspection before burning
- Precision grinding for inserts, slides and ground details
- CMM inspection of cavity plates and machined steel
- Injection molding machines for trials and production runs
- Fitting and assembly benches for mold build and try-out
What You Can Buy Separately
- Precision components making — CNC and EDM machined cavity, core and insert work
- Rapid prototype mold making at low price and fast lead time
- Mold engineering: MoldFlow study, DFM study, full 3D design, movement simulation
- Die casting mold making
- Injection production on tools we have built
Capability Questions
Do you design to our standard or to yours?
To yours where you have one. Otherwise to a global standard such as DME, Meusburger, HASCO, Progressive or MISUMI. Our senior designers read customer standards and special requirements in English.
What 3D formats can you issue?
STEP, IGES, Parasolid, CATIA or SolidWorks — whichever your own toolroom opens without translation.
Is the mold design finished before we see it?
Yes. Mold design is one hundred percent completed with details and checked during mold design review meetings before it is sent to customers.
Can we see how a complex mold will move?
For complex molds we run a mold motion simulation to prove the feasibility of the structure. In it the mold movements can be seen from open to close, step by step.
Which analysis do you run before building?
A practical MoldFlow study on mass production molds, in four stages: filling, then packing, then warpage, then cooling.
Put Our Engineering on Your Tool
Send the 3D data and the resin. The quotation comes back within two working days with technical comment on the part.
