Product Overview
Corrugated plastic sheet is often referred to as Coroplast, Corflute, Correx, fluted PP board, twin-wall corrugated sheet, PP plate sheet and fluted polypropylene sheet. It is a lightweight hollow-structure material that is non-toxic, waterproof, shockproof and long lasting, and it resists corrosion.
Compared with cardboard, fluted polypropylene sheet has the advantage of being waterproof and colourfast, which is why it replaces carton in packaging loops that run more than once.
Key Benefits
Excellent Mechanical Property
The twin-wall structure gives strong toughness, impact resistance, high compressive strength, shock buffering, high hardness, good bending behaviour and long service life.
Light Weight and Material Saving
To reach the same mechanical result, an extruded corrugated sheet uses less material, costs less and weighs less than a solid board.
Heat and Sound Insulation
The hollow flute structure transfers far less heat and sound than a solid board of the same thickness.
Anti-Static Conductive and Flame Retardant Grades
Modification, compounding and surface treatment produce anti-static, conductive and flame retardant versions of the same base sheet.
Stable Chemical Property
Against carton board or wooden board the sheet offers chemical resistance, waterproofing, moisture resistance, weatherability, anti-corrosion and fade resistance.
Smooth Surface in Many Colours
Masterbatch modification extrudes the sheet in different colours and the surface accepts paint and ink jet printing well.
Environmentally Friendly
Polypropylene is non-toxic and non-polluting, simple to dispose of and can be recycled.
Applications and Fit
Application Scenarios
- Reusable packaging boxes, turnover boxes and bulk bins
- Dividers, partitions and layer pads inside crates and pallets
- Indoor and outdoor signage and display board
- Backboards and vapour barriers in household appliances
- Temporary protection of floors, windows and fixtures on site
Who It Is For
- Packaging converters and box fabricators
- Sign makers and print houses
- Automotive and electronics packaging engineers
- Construction and fit-out contractors
- Board distributors and importers
Problems It Solves
- Cartons fail when wet and cannot be reused through a returnable loop.
- Solid plastic and wood panels add weight and freight cost.
- Paper board dividers cannot be washed between cycles.
- Untreated plastic panels reject ink and printed graphics.

Technical Features and Materials
High impact co-polymer polypropylene resin. Masterbatch is added at the extruder when an anti-static, conductive, UV stabilised or flame retardant grade is ordered.
Manufacturing Process
- Raw Material High impact co-polymer polypropylene resin, with anti-static, conductive, UV or flame retardant masterbatch added at the extruder when a modified grade is ordered.
- Extrusion The sheet is extruded on one of six production lines to the ordered thickness and weight per square metre. Printing grade stock is corona treated on both surfaces during extrusion.
- Cutting and Creasing Sheets are cut to the ordered panel size and creased where the part has to fold.
- Fabrication Boxes, totes, trays, sleeves and layer pads are formed by welding, riveting or sealing the edges and corners, and accessories are fitted.
- Inspection and Packing Finished goods are inspected, then packed in plastic shrink film on wooden pallets or to the packing method the customer specifies.
From Enquiry to Delivered Goods
Quality Control
ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System
Operations run to an ISO 9001:2000 quality management system so that the process meets international standards.
100% Inspection Before Delivery
Quality control is carried out inside our own factory and every product is 100% tested before it is released for delivery.
Extrusion Line Control
Thickness, weight per square metre, flute geometry and colour are set and checked on the extrusion line so each sheet matches the ordered specification.
Fabrication Check
Cut sizes, crease positions, welded corners and sealed edges are checked against the approved sample before packing.
Certifications and Standards
Operations run to an ISO 9001:2000 quality management system. Container resin can be specified as ESD safe or flame retardant meeting UL 94 HB flame retardant grade. Where food contact packing is required, 100% new virgin materials are used. We do not publish certificates we have not been given — ask and we will send what applies to your order.
Customization and Comparison
Customization Options
- OEM and customised orders are welcome. Send the drawing and the requirements of the style you want and we will submit samples for your approval.
- Thickness, weight per square metre, panel size, colour and grade are all set per order.
- Boxes and containers can be produced in different colours, thicknesses and styles to your detailed requirements, including dividers, layer pads and accessories.
- Printing and self-adhesive vinyl application are available on corona treated printing grade stock.
Comparison With Other Options
| Option | What It Means for You |
|---|---|
| Corrugated Plastic Sheet | Waterproof, colourfast, reusable, washable, recyclable, 2–12 mm, any colour |
| Carton Board | Absorbs water, single or few trips, not washable, lower unit price |
| Solid PP or PVC Panel | Heavier for the same stiffness, higher material cost |
| Plywood or Wooden Board | Heavy, absorbs moisture, needs fumigation for export |
Use Guide
- Set the thickness first: light dividers usually sit at 2–4 mm, structural box walls and returnable panels at 4–8 mm, heavy duty panels above that.
- Confirm weight per square metre separately from thickness. Two 4 mm sheets at 600 and 800 g/m² behave very differently under load.
- State the grade you need at enquiry stage, because corona treatment, anti-static, conductive, UV and flame retardant grades are set on the extrusion line, not applied afterwards.
- Give the finished panel size you actually cut to. We can extrude and cut to it instead of shipping 2440 × 1220 mm and leaving you the offcuts.
