Product Overview
Temporary surface protection board has good physical durability and chemical resistance, and it is widely used in the construction industry to protect waterproofing membranes, infrastructure networks, fixtures during construction, and windows and floors.
The same product is sold as Cartonal, Correx and Corflute temporary protection board. Because the panel is polypropylene it survives water on site, wipes clean and can be lifted and reused on the next phase instead of being thrown away.
Key Benefits
Physical Durability
Handles foot traffic, tools and site handling without tearing like paper-based protection.
Chemical Resistance
Resists the water, plaster, paint and site chemicals that ruin cardboard protection.
Waterproof
The polypropylene panel is unaffected by water on site.
Reusable
Lift, clean and use again on the next phase of the project.
Light to Handle
Boards cut and carry easily on site.
Colour Coded
Blue, black, grey, orange, red and white to suit the trade or phase.
Applications and Fit
Application Scenarios

- Infrastructure network protection
- Protection of fixtures during construction
- Window and glazing protection
- Floor protection during fit-out
Who It Is For
- Main contractors and fit-out contractors
- Waterproofing and roofing subcontractors
- Facilities teams protecting finished floors

Problems It Solves
- Cardboard protection disintegrates as soon as it gets wet.
- Finished floors and glazing get scratched during the following trades.
- Single-use protection has to be bought again on every phase.

Technical Features and Materials
Extruded polypropylene twin-wall sheet, supplied in board form and also available on the roll for continuous floor runs.

Extrusion Line Control
Thickness, weight per square metre, flute geometry and colour are set and checked on the extrusion line so each sheet matches the ordered specification.
Fabrication Check
Cut sizes, crease positions, welded corners and sealed edges are checked against the approved sample before packing.
Certifications and Standards
Operations run to an ISO 9001:2000 quality management system. Container resin can be specified as ESD safe or flame retardant meeting UL 94 HB flame retardant grade. Comparison With Other Options
| Option | What It Means for You |
|---|---|
| PP Protection Board | Waterproof, reusable, 2.2–5.0 mm, chemical resistant |
| Cardboard Protection | Fails when wet, single use, lower price |
| Hardboard | Heavy, absorbs moisture, harder to cut and handle |
Use Guide
- Match thickness to the traffic: lighter 2.2–3.0 mm board for glazing and fixtures, 4.0–5.0 mm where trolleys and heavy foot traffic run.
- Tape the joints so grit does not migrate under the boards and scratch the surface you are protecting.
- Use a distinct colour per phase so site teams can see at a glance which protection is current.
- Lift and store the boards flat after each phase so they can be reused.
