Coroplast Corflute Correx and the Other Names for the Same Board

One Material Many Trade Names

Corrugated plastic sheet is commonly known as Coroplast, Corflute, Correx, Cartonplast, Corriboard, fluted PP board, twin-wall corrugated sheet, PP plate sheet and fluted polypropylene sheet.

They all describe a lightweight hollow-structure polypropylene board that is non-toxic, waterproof, shockproof, corrosion resistant and durable. Which name you hear depends mostly on where you are buying and which brand entered that market first.

Why the Confusion Costs Money

Because the names are regional, a buyer comparing three quotes can easily be comparing the same material at three different thicknesses and weights without realising it. The name tells you almost nothing. Thickness, weight per square metre and grade tell you everything.

What to Quote Instead of a Name

Give thickness in millimetres, weight in grams per square metre, panel size in millimetres, colour, and the grade you need. With those five values any supplier is quoting the same thing.

Related but Different Materials

PP honeycomb board, also called PP bubble guard board, is a different construction: two flat skins over a circular honeycomb core rather than flutes. AlumaCorr is a corrugated plastic core faced with aluminium on both sides. Neither is a synonym for twin-wall sheet.
