Product Overview
Corrugated plastic sheets can be made into special purpose containers, including antistatic (ESD) containers and anti-static containers, which are widely used in the packaging, storage and transportation of electronic components.
Electronic components are very sensitive, fragile and valuable, and require proper protection to prevent damage. A conductive container is a better choice than other materials such as wood, cardboard or even metal.
Conductive and antistatic plastic containers prevent spare parts or industrial materials from being damaged, because of their antistatic, safe transportation and storage properties. They also provide effective protection for semiconductors, computers and telecommunications equipment. Any type of container can be made for packaging electronic components.
Key Benefits
Two Resistivity Bands
Anti-static grade at 1×10⁸–1×10¹⁰ Ω or conductive grade at 1×10³–1×10⁵ Ω.
Property Built In at Extrusion
Concentrate is added during extrusion rather than sprayed on afterwards.
Better Than Wood Cardboard or Metal
For this duty a conductive container outperforms those alternatives.
Washable and Reusable
Containers can be cleaned and returned through the loop.
Any Container Type
Boxes, totes, trays and inserts are all fabricated to your drawing.
Applications and Fit
Application Scenarios
- Packaging of electronic components
- Storage of static sensitive parts in the plant
- Transportation of semiconductors, computers and telecom equipment
- ESD safe trays, dividers and inserts
Who It Is For
- Semiconductor and PCB manufacturers
- Electronics contract manufacturers and EMS
- Telecom equipment producers
- Automotive electronics suppliers
Problems It Solves
- Static discharge damages sensitive components during handling and transit.
- Wood and cardboard shed particles into a clean assembly area.
- Metal packaging is heavy and expensive for a returnable ESD loop.

Technical Features and Materials
Corrugated polypropylene sheet with anti-static or conductive concentrate compounded at the extruder.
Manufacturing Process
- Raw Material High impact co-polymer polypropylene resin, with anti-static, conductive, UV or flame retardant masterbatch added at the extruder when a modified grade is ordered.
- Extrusion The sheet is extruded on one of six production lines to the ordered thickness and weight per square metre. Printing grade stock is corona treated on both surfaces during extrusion.
- Cutting and Creasing Sheets are cut to the ordered panel size and creased where the part has to fold.
- Fabrication Boxes, totes, trays, sleeves and layer pads are formed by welding, riveting or sealing the edges and corners, and accessories are fitted.
- Inspection and Packing Finished goods are inspected, then packed in plastic shrink film on wooden pallets or to the packing method the customer specifies.
From Enquiry to Delivered Goods
Quality Control
ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System
Operations run to an ISO 9001:2000 quality management system so that the process meets international standards.
100% Inspection Before Delivery
Quality control is carried out inside our own factory and every product is 100% tested before it is released for delivery.
Extrusion Line Control
Thickness, weight per square metre, flute geometry and colour are set and checked on the extrusion line so each sheet matches the ordered specification.
Fabrication Check
Cut sizes, crease positions, welded corners and sealed edges are checked against the approved sample before packing.
Certifications and Standards
Operations run to an ISO 9001:2000 quality management system. Container resin can be specified as ESD safe or flame retardant meeting UL 94 HB flame retardant grade. Where food contact packing is required, 100% new virgin materials are used. We do not publish certificates we have not been given — ask and we will send what applies to your order.
Customization and Comparison
Customization Options
- OEM and customised orders are welcome. Send the drawing and the requirements of the style you want and we will submit samples for your approval.
- Thickness, weight per square metre, panel size, colour and grade are all set per order.
- Boxes and containers can be produced in different colours, thicknesses and styles to your detailed requirements, including dividers, layer pads and accessories.
- Printing and self-adhesive vinyl application are available on corona treated printing grade stock.
Comparison With Other Options
| Option | What It Means for You |
|---|---|
| Conductive Container | 1×10³–1×10⁵ Ω, black, for strict ESD control |
| Antistatic Container | 1×10⁸–1×10¹⁰ Ω, any colour, for general static control |
| Cardboard Box | No static control, sheds particles, single trip |
| Metal Container | Durable but heavy and costly to return empty |
Use Guide
- Confirm which resistivity band your ESD procedure requires before the container is quoted.
- Remember conductive grade is black only, so colour coding has to be done with labels.
- Send the component drawing so divider and insert layout protects the parts properly.
- Specify wash frequency, since it affects the sheet weight we recommend.
