YT1000R Electro Pneumatic Valve Positioner-Black
The YT-1000R is an electro pneumatic valve positioner for pneumatic rotary valve actuators.

What This Model Does
The YT-1000R is an electro pneumatic valve positioner for pneumatic rotary valve actuators. It takes a DC 4 to 20 mA signal from a controller or DCS, including split range signals, and drives the actuator until the valve reaches the position that signal asks for. A mechanical feedback linkage reads actual valve stem rotation back into the positioner, so the loop closes at the valve rather than in the control room. It is a form fit and function replacement for the YTC pattern positioner already fitted on most quarter turn rotary actuators.

Why Buyers Specify This Model
- Closes the position loop at the valve so stem friction and packing drag stop showing up as control error
- Raises the output power available to the actuator, so large rotary actuators rotate without stalling
- Cuts the lag between a change in the control signal and actual valve rotation
- Improves valve linearity, so a given percentage signal change gives a matching rotation change
- Cancels the unbalanced torque from process pressure acting on the valve plug
- Accepts split range signals, so two valves can be sequenced from one controller output
- Standard YTC mounting pattern, so it drops onto brackets already on the actuator
Problems It Solves
- Valve stem sticks then jumps because static friction beats the actuator torque
- Loop tuning cannot settle because the valve responds late to the controller output
- Rotation is not proportional to signal across the stroke
- Original brand positioner is on long lead time or discontinued for that actuator size
- One controller output has to sequence two valves and the existing positioner cannot split range
Application Scenarios
- Ball valve on a high-pressure gas line where packing friction causes valve sticking
- Butterfly valve on a slurry line that will not rotate fully on controller air alone
- Split range service where one controller output drives a closing and a opening valve
- Replacing a failed positioner on an existing rotary valve without changing the actuator or bracket
- New skid build where the valve supplier ships the actuator without a positioner
Who It Is For
- Plant instrument technicians replacing worn positioners on rotary control valves
- Valve and actuator assemblers who fit positioners before shipment
- EPC contractors buying positioners in project quantities for a plant build
- Distributors stocking YTC pattern spares for local process plants
- OEMs who want the same positioner supplied under their own brand and colour
Technical Features
- Force balance operation between the input signal coil and the mechanical feedback linkage
- Mechanical valve position feedback taken directly from the actuator stem
- Accepts DC 4 to 20 mA input including split range calibration
- External zero and span adjustment for field calibration
- Single acting output for spring return actuators, double acting output for double acting actuators
- Position status can be reported back to the upper system by electrical signal when a transmitter module is fitted
Materials and Construction
- Cast aluminium alloy housing with painted finish
- Stainless steel feedback lever and spring components
- Full material and finish breakdown is given in the datasheet PDF

Manufacturing and Quality Control
Every unit is calibrated and stroke tested before it is packed. We can film or photograph your units in the sample room or warehouse before they ship.
Manufacturing Steps
Housing casting and machining
Coil and torque motor assembly
Pilot relay and nozzle flapper assembly
Zero and span calibration on an air bench
Signal sweep test across the 4 to 20 mA range
Painting in the customer colour and logo marking for OEM orders
Packing in stock or customised cartons
Quality Control
- Every unit is calibrated and stroke tested before packing
- Photos or video of the actual units can be taken in the sample room or warehouse before shipment
- Faulty units inside the 18 month warranty are replaced on photo or video evidence, not repaired
- Replacements normally ship with the customer next order, or immediately when the plant is down
Customisation Options
- Customer logo and nameplate marking
- Housing painted in the customer colour
- Newly designed shape modules developed to customer drawings
- Customised carton and inner packaging
- Supplied assembled with a limit switch box or position transmitter module
How It Compares With the Alternatives
| YT1000L linear positioner | The R version drives rotary stem actuators; use the L version for linear stem actuators |
|---|---|
| Pneumatic positioner without I/P conversion | The YT-1000R accepts a 4 to 20 mA electrical signal directly, so no separate I/P transducer is needed in front of it |
| Intelligent digital positioner | A digital positioner adds diagnostics and HART; the YT-1000R is the lower cost choice where the loop only needs position control |
| I/P transducer driving the actuator directly | A transducer sets air pressure, not valve position, so it cannot correct for packing friction or process load |
Fitting and Setting Up This Model
General field procedure. Always follow the datasheet for the exact calibration sequence and any hazardous area requirements.
Mount the positioner on the actuator yoke with the YTC pattern bracket and connect the feedback lever to the stem clamp
Set the feedback lever horizontal at 50 percent rotation so the linkage stays linear across the stroke
Connect clean dry instrument air to the supply port and the actuator to the output port
Wire the DC 4 to 20 mA signal observing polarity
Rotate the valve at 4 mA and set zero, then at 20 mA and set span, and repeat until both ends hold
For split range service calibrate zero and span to the assigned half of the signal
Check the air filter regulator regularly; dirty air is the most common cause of positioner drift
YT1000R Electro Pneumatic Valve Positioner-Black FAQ
Will this fit the bracket already on my actuator?
If the actuator carries a YTC pattern positioner today, yes. Send a photo of the existing bracket and stem clamp over WhatsApp and we will confirm before you order.
What is the lead time?
Regular quantities normally ship in 2 to 3 days from stock. Large project quantities take 7 to 10 days.
Can I get it in our own colour with our logo?
Yes. The housing is painted to your colour and the nameplate carries your logo. Black, blue and yellow are already tooled; other colours are painted to order.
What is the difference between the L and the R model?
The L is for linear stem actuators on globe and diaphragm valves. The R is for quarter turn rotary actuators on ball and butterfly valves.
What happens if a unit fails on site?
The warranty is 18 months. Send photos or a short video, and we ship a replacement unit rather than asking you to return it for repair. It normally travels with your next order, or on its own if the plant is down.
Do you supply the limit switch box and transmitter as one assembly?
Yes. The positioner can be supplied already assembled with a 210, 410A or 410B limit switch box, or with an internal or external position transmitter module.
Can I see the actual units before they ship?
Yes. Ask on WhatsApp and we will photograph or film the units in the sample room or warehouse before packing.
