Polycrystalline Diamond Drawing Dies for Wet and Dry Drawing

Polycrystalline Diamond Drawing Dies for Wet and Dry Drawing

PCD dies for any wet or dry drawing process, φ0.03-20.00 mm for wire and φ0.50-40.00 mm for stranding.

Product Overview

Polycrystalline Diamond Drawing Dies for Wet and Dry Drawing

Polycrystalline diamond dies are the die material for large sizes where demanding wear is the problem but surface finish is less critical. The published die-life ranking puts PCD above tungsten carbide, natural diamond and single crystal diamond dies, and the size range covers both wire drawing and cable stranding.

Specifications

Key Benefits

What This Model Gives You

Wet or Dry Drawing

One die material for both processes, which simplifies the die store.

Longest Life of Any Die Material

Highest production efficiency with the least downtime.

Large Size Down to Ultra Fine

Available from large size wire to ultra fine wire.

Predictable Surface Finish

The finish of the wire stays where it started rather than drifting with wear.

Application Scenarios

Where It Is Used

  • Saw wire drawing
  • Stainless and carbon steel wire
  • Welding wire
  • Aluminium and copper wire
  • Tyre cord drawing

Industries

Problems It Solves

Why Buyers Specify It

  • Abrasive wire eats carbide dies inside a single run
  • Frequent die changes make the schedule unpredictable
  • Surface finish requirements sometimes matter less than die life, and the die choice should reflect that

Compared With Other Models

Tungsten carbide dies are used where diamond is not economical or where hole tolerance is not critical, and they cover 0.015 mm to 32.0 mm. PCD covers 0.03-20.00 mm drawing and 0.50-40.00 mm stranding, with longer life on abrasive wire. Nano coated dies extend life further with effectively zero wear.

Use Guide

How It Is Set Up and Run

  1. Choose PCD where the wire is abrasive and finish requirements are moderate.
  2. State the wire material, the incoming and finished diameters and whether drawing is wet or dry.
  3. For stranding, give the cable construction and the compacting requirement.
  4. Measure metres per die against the incumbent before converting the programme.
Customisation and Supply

What Is Built to Order

Dies to Your Wire

Dies are manufactured for wire between 0.10 mm and 25.0 mm to suit round or profile wire and rod, to the customer's own specification, at -1% / +2% of the wire diameter.

Your Electrical Supply

On the motorised and hydraulic machines, operating voltage is built to the industrial supply of the destination country. State voltage, phase and frequency with the order.

Export Packing

Machines are packed in a strong wooden or plywood case as stated per model. Carry cases are supplied with the portable welders and the DA10.

FAQ

Polycrystalline Diamond Drawing Dies for Wet and Dry Drawing Questions

What size range is available

φ0.03 mm to φ20.00 mm for wire drawing, and φ0.50 mm to φ40.00 mm for cable stranding.

Is the surface finish as good as a natural diamond die

PCD is specified for applications where demanding wear is the problem and surface finish is less critical. Where finish is the priority, discuss the application before ordering.

What is PCD short for

Polycrystalline diamond — a diamond die material used for any type of wet and dry wire drawing process.

What wire materials suit it

Various ferrous and non-ferrous metal rods and wires, usually saw wire, stainless steel wire, carbon steel wire, welding wire, aluminium wire, copper wire and tyre cord.

Quote the Polycrystalline Diamond Drawing Dies for Wet and Dry Drawing

Give the wire material, the diameter and the country the machine will run in, and the quote comes back with the die set and the voltage build already decided.
