QT4-24 Semi Auto Concrete Block Machine

Panel-controlled semi automatic press shipped in a plywood case, built for small scale hollow block, solid block and interlocking paver production.

Semi automatic concrete block machine with the block and paver types it produces
Vibration force
35.5 KN
Cycle
30 s
Power
13.45 KW
Pallet size
850 x 550 x 30 mm

Machine Overview

The QT4-24 shares the 13.45 kW electrical vibration press and 35.5 kN vibration force of the QT40-1 and adds a control box, so the operator works from buttons on a panel rather than at the machine. It is shipped as one unit in a plywood case, which keeps ocean freight low and means the machine only has to be connected to power on arrival. Moulds change the product between hollow blocks, solid blocks and interlocking paver bricks.

Key Benefits

  • Control box operation: the cycle runs from panel buttons rather than by hand
  • Low total investment with a short capital turnover on small production volumes
  • Simple structure that local fitters can maintain without factory support
  • Plywood case packing that cuts the ocean freight bill on a small order
  • Three block families from one press by changing the mould

Who It Is For

  • Buyers comparing semi automatic presses on delivered cost rather than list price
  • Operators who want panel control instead of hand-operated levers
  • Yards producing several block types in short runs

Problems It Solves

  • Shipping cost that swallows the saving on a small machine
  • Hand operation that varies the cycle and therefore the block density
  • Maintenance that depends on a visiting engineer instead of local fitters

Application Scenarios

  • Interlocking paver production for yards, driveways and walkways
  • Solid block production where a clay brick supply is unreliable or restricted
  • A starter plant in a market where import freight is a large part of the budget
  • Block supply for a single construction company across several sites

Technical Features

  • 13.45 kW electrical vibration press with a 30 second moulding period
  • 35.5 kN vibration force across hollow, solid and interlocking moulds
  • Control box with push-button operation of the moulding cycle
  • JD350 pan mixer at 5.5 kW with a 6 m belt conveyor feeding the hopper
  • 850 x 550 x 30 mm pallets, 600 supplied

Quality Control In The Workshop

  • Steel surfaces are polished and de-rusted before any welding work starts
  • Regular parts are CO2 shielded welded and key stress points are robot welded
  • The frame is shot blasted and finished in automotive grade paint
  • 12 month warranty on frame, vibration system and drive motors from shipment

Use Guide

  • Unpack the plywood case, position the machine on a firm level floor and connect power
  • Set the mould for the block being produced and run a short trial batch
  • Check the block edges after demoulding; adjust vibration time before running a full batch rather than after it
  • Clean the mould at the end of each shift so cured cement does not build up on the moulding faces

Published Output By Block Size

Capacity is indicative. Actual output varies with operator efficiency, mould and material quality, which is how the manufacturer specification states it.

What The Machine Looks Like

Comparison

How It Compares With The Alternatives

A technical comparison against the other ways of solving the same problem, using the figures each machine publishes for itself.

QT40-1 semi automatic machineSame press specification without the control box. The QT4-24 is the choice when panel operation and case packing matter.
QT40-2 manual machineThe QT40-2 is cheaper and hand fed at a 40 second cycle and 30 kN. The QT4-24 holds 35.5 kN and 30 seconds with a conveyor.
QT4-15 automatic machineHydraulic moulding, PLC control and 5000 to 7000 blocks per shift. The step up is justified when a single shift can no longer keep up with orders.
Questions

QT4-24 Semi Auto Concrete Block Machine Questions

What does the control box change compared with the QT40-1?
The operator runs the moulding cycle from push buttons on a panel rather than working at the machine. The press specification is otherwise the same.
How is the machine packed for shipping?
In a plywood case, shipped as one unit. The source specification names this as a way to reduce ocean freight cost.
Can it make interlocking pavers?
Yes. Hollow blocks, solid blocks and interlocking paver bricks all come off the machine by changing the mould.
Is any assembly required on arrival?
No. The machine is shipped whole and only needs connection to the local power supply before a trial run.
How long is the moulding cycle?
30 seconds, giving 2160 to 2880 pieces per 8 hours on a 400 x 250 x 200 mm block.
