What This Industry Needs From a Stenter Rail
Knitted fabric rolls at the edge the moment it relaxes, and it has no firm selvedge for a clip to grip. That makes the knitter's problem a pinning problem: get the edge open and flat at the entry, then hold it on pins through the chamber. Assess the edge
Tell us the fabric and how hard it curls. Light curl takes a flat nylon guide, hard curl takes four fingers or a pneumatic spreader.
Set the infeed
Uncurlers mount at the infeed section, just before the pinning point, adjustable in height and angle.
Hold on the rail
Pin plates in matched sets so the selvedge grip is identical across the width.
Relax afterwards
Ferraro and Lafer compact machines take the fabric back to its natural dimensions.

My jersey curls badly at the entry. What do I need?
Start with a four finger uncurler, which spreads the flattening over a longer length of edge. For spandex blends and very delicate knits, a pneumatic spreader such as the E+L ELSPREADER is gentler.
Can I run knits on a clip rail?
Not reliably. A clip stenter needs a definite edge to grip, preferably a selvedge, so it is usually confined to wovens.
Do you supply compact machine parts?
Yes, chain for Ferraro and Lafer compact machines from Italy.
Nylon or finger uncurlers?
Flat nylon is non-abrasive and the gentlest passive option. Fingers give more positive control on a hard-rolling edge.
