The brush wheel presses the fabric selvedge down onto the pins as the cloth enters the rail. It is a small part with a large effect: if the bristles are worn, too soft, or the wrong grade for the fabric, the selvedge is never fully pinned and the edge lets go inside the chamber. We make wheels in eleven sizes covering Monforts, Bruckner, Artos, LK, ALKAN, EHWHA, Unitech, ACC and F2 positions, each with a choice of six bristle types.

Which bristle type should I choose?
PBT for the hottest positions, pig hair for softer contact on delicate goods, hard hair with glue for heavy fabrics that need firm pressure, goat or horse hair for the gentlest contact. Tell us your fabric and chamber temperature.
How do I measure my wheel?
Diameter and body width, both. Several of our sizes share a diameter and differ only in body width, and those wheels do not swap.
What do the wheel colours mean?
Nothing fixed. We mould bodies in red, green and purple so mills can code bristle grades on the shelf. Tell us which colour you want for which grade.
Can you make a size that is not listed?
Yes, against a sample wheel. Post us one and we will match diameter, body width and bore.
