What This Machine Does
The TX90 is a high precision valve seat and valve guide cutting machine, offered alongside the larger TL120 and the long TL120XL. The bed uses a modular design for improved rigidity, with static and dynamic characteristics worked out by computer, because seat cutting quality is decided by how little the machine moves during the cut. The patented work head carries a triple air-float automatic centring system with a built-in spindle motor, and the point of that design is that it greatly reduces the number of free-floating parts during the centring sequence, leaving minimal work-head inertia and maximum floatation, which is what gives the centring its sensitivity. The fully integrated spindle motor is infinitely variable from 0 to 1200 rpm with sensorless vector flux control, runs forward and reverse, and holds constant torque spindle rotation over an extremely broad torque range from the lowest rpm upward. A digital rpm readout sets speed accurately. New table bars use pneumatic locking, and an improved lighting system is fitted.
Why Buyers Choose This Machine
- Triple air-float automatic centring with few free-floating parts gives the work head the sensitivity to find the guide centre
- Built-in spindle motor in the work head removes the drive train between motor and cut
- Infinitely variable 0 to 1200 rpm means the operator sets the exact speed the seat material needs
- Constant torque from the lowest rpm upward keeps the cutter working in hard seat inserts at low speed
- Digital rpm readout sets speed to a number instead of to a dial position
- Pneumatic locking table bars clamp and release quickly between heads
- Three sizes TX90 TL120 and TL120XL so capacity matches the heads you run
Where Valve Seat Boring Machine TX90 Earns Its Place
Problems It Solves
- A flexible machine bed lets the spindle move during the cut and spoils the seat form
- Centring systems with many floating parts are slow to settle and lose sensitivity
- Fixed speed steps leave the operator cutting hard seat material at the wrong speed
- Low speed on a belt-driven spindle means low torque, which stalls the cut in hard inserts
- Mechanical table clamping is slow to set and release across a batch of heads
Who It Is For
- Engine rebuild shops replacing an older seat machine with a rigid modern one
- Workshops cutting hardened and induction-treated seat inserts
- Machine shops taking in cylinder head work as a subcontract service
- Distributors equipping engine reconditioning workshops in export markets
Application Scenarios
- High precision valve seat and guide cutting on car and light-truck cylinder heads
- Low-speed high-torque cutting in hardened seat inserts
- Running forward and reverse spindle direction for guide reaming and seat work
- Long commercial and industrial heads on the TL120XL
- Batch head work where table bars must be locked and released quickly between parts

How It Is Built and What Can Be Changed
Operations Performed
- Seat cutting
- Boring
- Guide machining
Quality Control
- Spindle speed verified across the 0 to 1200 rpm range against the digital readout
- Air-float centring repeatability checked on the assembled work head
- Seat concentricity to the guide checked on a test cylinder head
- Pneumatic table bar locking tested before shipment
- Machine painted on our automatic sheet-metal spraying line and inspected before packing
Customisation Options
- Model chosen from TX90 TL120 or TL120XL by the cylinder head length you run

- Supply voltage and frequency set to your market
- Manual and machine markings prepared in the language your shop works in
How It Compares With the Alternatives
| XAIMC TL120DRO digital display valve seat machine | The DRO version adds a digital position display to the same class of work head; the TX90 line gives the digital rpm readout and manual position control |
|---|---|
| XAIMC TL120CNC CNC valve seat machine | The CNC machine executes a stored seat cycle; the TX90 keeps the operator in the cut with an infinitely variable spindle and air-float centring |
| Belt driven seat machines | A belt drive loses torque at low rpm; the integrated spindle motor here holds constant torque from the lowest rpm, which is what hard seat inserts need |
Running the Machine
Step 1
Clamp the cylinder head using the pneumatically locked table bars
Step 2
Let the triple air-float work head centre the spindle on the valve guide
Step 3
Set spindle speed within the 0 to 1200 rpm range using the digital rpm readout
Step 4
Select forward or reverse direction for the operation you are performing
Step 5
Cut the seat, then check width and concentricity on the first head
Step 6
Work through the remaining seats at the same speed and depth setting
Step 7
Keep the air supply clean and dry so the centring and the table bars work correctly

Questions About Valve Seat Boring Machine TX90
What is the difference between TX90 TL120 and TL120XL?
Machine capacity. They differ in the size of cylinder head they will take, with the TL120XL as the long version. Send us the longest head you run and we will confirm which model fits.
What spindle speeds are available?
The spindle is infinitely variable from 0 to 1200 rpm with sensorless vector flux control, running forward and reverse, with constant torque held from the lowest rpm.
Can it cut hardened seat inserts?
Yes. The broad constant torque range from low rpm is what allows the cutter to keep working in hard seat material. Cutting bits must be specified for the insert material.
Does it machine valve guides as well as seats?
Yes. It is a valve seat and valve guide cutting machine, so both are done in one setup and stay concentric.
What tooling do I need to order?
Cutting bits and pilots are specified against your seat and guide diameters. Send us the range you work on and we will quote them with the machine.
What voltage is the machine supplied at?
We set supply voltage and frequency to your market. Confirm your shop supply when you place the order.
What are your payment and trade terms?
FOB CFR and CIF. Payment is 30 percent by T/T on order and 70 percent before shipment, or an irrevocable L/C at sight.
