The cone faces of valve and seat decide whether the cylinder holds compression, and until they are tested the only evidence a rebuilder has is how the engine sounds once it is back together. The ZJ45 draws a vacuum on the port and reads the level reached: if the vacuum degree is below 600 mbar the valve and seat need repair. The valve cone is then refaced on a valve machine and the seat cone bored on a valve seat boring machine, and the same tester is used afterwards to confirm the repair has worked. Vacuum level is 900 mbar with an output of 36 L/Min at 50Hz from a 100W motor on a 220V single-phase supply. At 0.6 kg the unit is carried to the head rather than the head being carried to it, and it can be used to test other vacuum applications.
