What This Machine Does
This power milling chuck arbor is the holder between the spindle and the milling chuck, and its accuracy sets the accuracy of everything cut with it. The arbor is made in 40Cr or 20CrMnTi and hardened to HRC48 to 52, so the taper and the clamping bore keep their form through repeated tool changes. The precision taper is ground to AT3 and run-out is 0.005mm, which keeps the cutter turning on the spindle centreline instead of sweeping a circle that widens every slot it cuts. Balance is offered in two grades: A at G6.3/12000rpm and AA at G2.5/20000rpm for high speed work, because an unbalanced holder at high rpm shakes the finish out of the surface and the life out of the spindle bearings. Arbors are made to JT, BT, DIN and CAT standards to suit your machines, supplied in a plastic box or as you specify, and OEM production is available.
Why Buyers Choose This Machine
- Run-out of 0.005mm keeps the cutter on the spindle centreline so slots stay to size
- AT3 precision taper seats consistently in the spindle after every tool change
- Hardness HRC48 to 52 keeps taper and bore form through repeated tool changes
- Two balance grades G6.3/12000rpm and G2.5/20000rpm for standard and high speed work
- Made in JT BT DIN and CAT standards so the arbor fits the machines you already run
- 40Cr or 20CrMnTi material chosen for the duty
- OEM production available for distributors and machine builders
Where Power Milling Chuck Arbor Earns Its Place
Problems It Solves
- A holder with run-out makes every slot wider than the cutter that cut it
- Unbalanced holders at high rpm spoil surface finish and wear spindle bearings
- Soft holders lose taper form and stop seating consistently after repeated changes
- Mixed spindle standards across a shop force tooling to be bought machine by machine
- Cutter life falls short when one flute takes more of the cut than the others
Who It Is For
- CNC milling shops specifying tool holders for machining centres
- High speed machining operations running above 12000rpm
- Machine tool builders and rebuilders specifying tooling
- Distributors supplying tool holders under their own brand
Application Scenarios
- Holding milling chucks and cutters on machining centres
- High speed machining where balance grade AA at 20000rpm is required
- Mixed machine shops running JT BT DIN and CAT spindle standards
- Slot and profile milling where cutter run-out shows directly in the part
- Tool presetting and tool room build up of holder assemblies

How It Is Built and What Can Be Changed
Operations Performed
- Milling
- Tool holding
Materials Handled
- 40Cr
- 20CrMnTi
Quality Control
- Taper ground and checked to AT3 accuracy
- Run-out measured against the 0.005mm figure on each arbor
- Hardness verified within the HRC48 to 52 range after heat treatment
- Balance checked to G6.3/12000rpm or G2.5/20000rpm according to grade ordered
Customisation Options
- Taper standard specified as JT BT DIN or CAT for your spindles
- Balance grade specified A or AA according to your spindle speeds
- Material specified as 40Cr or 20CrMnTi
- OEM branding and packing prepared to your requirement
How It Compares With the Alternatives
| Standard unbalanced tool holder | An unbalanced holder is acceptable at low rpm but shakes the finish out of the part above 12000rpm; the AA grade is balanced to G2.5/20000rpm |
|---|---|
| Collet chuck holder | A collet chuck grips a range of shank diameters with each collet; the power milling chuck arbor is the holder body that carries the chuck to the spindle |
| Soft or unhardened arbors | Unhardened holders lose taper form after repeated tool changes; hardening to HRC48 to 52 keeps the seat accurate through the holder's working life |
Running the Machine
Step 1
Specify the taper standard JT BT DIN or CAT to match your spindle
Step 2
Choose balance grade A or AA according to the spindle speeds you run
Step 3
Clean the spindle taper and the arbor taper before every fitting
Step 4
Fit the milling chuck and tighten to the recommended torque
Step 5
Check assembled run-out at the cutter before starting a critical job
Step 6
Store arbors in their boxes so the taper surfaces are not knocked
Step 7
Replace the arbor if the taper is scored or the run-out no longer holds

Questions About Power Milling Chuck Arbor
What run-out can I expect?
Run-out is 0.005mm on the arbor. Run-out measured at the cutter also depends on the chuck and the cutter shank, so check the assembly before a critical job.
Which balance grade do I need?
A grade is balanced to G6.3/12000rpm and AA grade to G2.5/20000rpm. Choose AA if you run above 12000rpm, because imbalance at those speeds costs both surface finish and spindle bearing life.
Which taper standard should I order?
Arbors are made to JT, BT, DIN and CAT. Tell us your spindle designation and we will supply the matching standard.
What material and hardness are used?
40Cr or 20CrMnTi, hardened to HRC48 to 52, with the taper ground to AT3 precision.
Do you produce OEM arbors?
Yes. We can produce to OEM requirement. Send us your drawings, standard and marking requirement and we will quote.
How are the arbors packed?
In plastic boxes as standard, or according to your packing requirement. Tell us your quantity and port and we will quote FOB CFR or CIF.
What are your payment terms?
30 percent by T/T on order and 70 percent before shipment, or an irrevocable L/C at sight.
