What This Machine Does
The DRO range cuts valve seats and reams valve guides with the position shown on a digital display, so the operator works to a number instead of to a feel. All three machines use the patented triple air-float automatic centring system with a high torque powerful motor spindle, which is what puts the cut on the guide centreline rather than on wherever the head sits on the table. The three models differ mainly in the cylinder head they will take. The TX90DRO handles heads up to 990 mm long, the TL120DRO up to 1440 mm, and the long TL120XL version up to 2400 mm. All three take heads up to 500 mm wide; the two smaller machines take 450 mm of head height and the long machine 550 mm. Crosswise workpiece tilting runs from plus 45 to minus 15 degrees on every model. Maximum table horizontal travel is 16 to 90 mm on the TX90DRO and 160 mm on the larger machines.
Why Buyers Choose This Machine
- Triple air-float automatic centring puts the seat cut concentric to the guide instead of to the table setting
- Digital display gives the operator a position number rather than a judgement call on depth
- High torque powerful motorspindle holds cutting speed through hardened seat inserts
- One machine cuts valve seats and reams valve guides, so seat and guide stay concentric in one setup
- Three head capacities from 990 mm to 2400 mm long, so the machine is matched to the engines you actually rebuild
- Crosswise workpiece tilting from plus 45 to minus 15 degrees covers angled seat positions on all models
- 160 mm of table horizontal travel on the TL120DRO and the long version for multi-cylinder heads
Where Digital Display Power Valve Seat Machine TX90DRO Earns Its Place
Problems It Solves
- Seats cut off the guide centreline leak and burn valves soon after the rebuild
- Working without a readout means depth depends on the operator and varies between shifts
- A machine sized for car heads cannot take the long heads a truck workshop sees
- Reaming guides on a separate machine loses the concentricity between guide and seat
- Angled seats are slow to set up when the workpiece cannot be tilted on the machine
Who It Is For
- Engine rebuild shops that want position readout without moving to full CNC
- Truck bus and industrial engine workshops running long cylinder heads
- Machine shops doing subcontract head work across mixed engine sizes
- Distributors equipping engine rebuild lines in export markets
Application Scenarios
- Cutting valve seats on passenger car heads up to 990 mm long on the TX90DRO
- Reconditioning heads up to 1440 mm long on the TL120DRO in a mixed rebuild shop
- Long commercial and industrial engine heads up to 2400 mm on the TL120XL version
- Reaming valve guides before cutting the seats so both are concentric
- Angled seat work using crosswise tilting within the plus 45 to minus 15 degree range

How It Is Built and What Can Be Changed
Operations Performed
- Seat cutting
- Boring
- Reaming
Quality Control
- Seat concentricity to the guide bore checked on a sample cylinder head
- Digital display readings verified against measured spindle movement
- Air-float centring repeatability checked on the assembled work head
- Crosswise tilting tested across the plus 45 to minus 15 degree range
- Machine run in and test cut before packing
Customisation Options
- Model selected from TX90DRO TL120DRO or the long version by the cylinder head length you run
- Cutting bits pilots and guide reamers specified for your seat and guide diameters
- Supply voltage and frequency set to your market
- Display units and manual language prepared for your shop
How It Compares With the Alternatives
| XAIMC TL120CNC CNC valve seat machine | The CNC machine stores and executes the seat program; the DRO machine shows the position while the operator drives the cut, which suits shops that want readout without programming |
|---|---|
| XAIMC TX90 manual valve seat boring machine | The manual machine has no digital position display, so depth is judged by the operator; the DRO version puts that number on screen |
| Hand-held valve seat cutting tooling | Hand tooling is portable but cannot hold seat-to-guide concentricity across a batch the way the air-float centring work head does |
Running the Machine
Step 1
Choose the model whose head length capacity covers the longest head you run
Step 2
Clamp the cylinder head and set the crosswise tilt within plus 45 to minus 15 degrees
Step 3
Let the triple air-float system centre the spindle on the valve guide
Step 4
Ream the valve guide if it needs it, then set the seat cut
Step 5
Work to the digital display for cutting position rather than by feel
Step 6
Check the first seat for width and concentricity before running the batch
Step 7
Keep the air supply clean and dry so the air-float centring works correctly

Questions About Digital Display Power Valve Seat Machine TX9
Which model do I need?
It depends on head size. The TX90DRO takes heads up to 990 mm long, the TL120DRO up to 1440 mm and the long version up to 2400 mm. All take 500 mm width. Send us the longest head you run and we will confirm.
Does it ream valve guides as well as cut seats?
Yes. It is an all-purpose machine to cut valve seats and ream valve guides, which is what keeps the seat concentric to the guide.
How much can the workpiece be tilted?
Crosswise workpiece tilting is plus 45 to minus 15 degrees on all three models.
What is the table horizontal travel?
16 to 90 mm on the TX90DRO and 160 mm on the TL120DRO and the long version.
