Overview

What This Machine Does

The VH hydraulic machine vise clamps by hydraulic pressure rather than by how hard the operator pulls on the handle, which is the difference that matters on a CNC machining centre. Every part in a batch is held at the same force, so the part does not creep under a roughing cut and thin-walled work is not distorted by an operator leaning on the lever. Hydraulic clamping also reaches full force in a short handle movement, which takes time out of every load and unload in a production cycle. The vise is built with imported accessories for accurate assembly and stable performance over a long service life. Four body sizes are offered as VH-4, VH-5, VH-6 and VH-8, the 6 inch VH-6 being the common size on vertical machining centres. The vise is used for milling, drilling, boring and tapping work wherever repeatable clamping force is required.

Key Benefits

Why Buyers Choose This Machine

  • Hydraulic clamping applies the same force to every part regardless of who loads the machine
  • Full clamping force from a short handle movement cuts load and unload time each cycle
  • Consistent force stops thin-walled parts being distorted by over-tightening
  • Imported accessories support accurate assembly and stable performance in service
  • Four sizes VH-4 VH-5 VH-6 and VH-8 cover small parts through to larger workpieces
  • Higher holding force allows heavier cuts without the part shifting in the jaws
Application

Where 6 Inch CNC Hydraulic Machine Vise Earns Its Place

Problems It Solves

  • Manual clamping force varies with the operator and between shifts
  • Parts move under roughing cuts when the vise was not tightened enough
  • Thin-walled parts are crushed out of shape when the vise is over-tightened
  • Long handle movements on manual vises waste time on every load and unload
  • Inconsistent clamping causes dimensional scatter across a production batch

Who It Is For

  • CNC machining shops running repeat production batches
  • Manufacturers machining thin-walled or deformation-sensitive parts
  • Toolrooms upgrading from manual vises on machining centres
  • Distributors supplying machine tool workholding

Application Scenarios

  • Production milling on vertical machining centres
  • Batch work where clamping force must repeat from part to part
  • Holding thin-walled parts that distort under uneven manual clamping
  • Heavy roughing cuts where a manual vise would let the part move
  • Drilling boring and tapping setups on a mill table

Comparison

How It Compares With the Alternatives

GT modular manual clamping milling viseThe GT vise is manually clamped and ground for toolroom and inspection accuracy; the hydraulic VH vise repeats clamping force for production batches
Standard manual machine viseA manual vise depends on the operator for force, so clamping varies between parts and shifts; hydraulic clamping removes that variable
Clamping with table clamps and strapsStrap clamps are slow to set and reset for each part; the vise loads and unloads in seconds with a short handle movement
Use Guide

Running the Machine

Step 1

Mount the vise on the machine table and indicate the fixed jaw parallel to the axis

Step 2

Fit jaws suited to the part and set the part on parallels

Step 3

Set the clamping pressure to suit the part and the cut

Step 4

Clamp and check the part is seated on the parallels before cutting

Step 5

Machine a first part and check dimensions before running the batch

Step 6

Keep the bed and jaw faces clear of swarf between parts

Step 7

Check the hydraulic mechanism for leaks as part of routine maintenance

FAQ

Questions About 6 Inch CNC Hydraulic Machine Vise

Which size should I order?

The range covers VH-4, VH-5, VH-6 and VH-8. The 6 inch VH-6 is the usual choice on a vertical machining centre. Send us your part sizes and machine table and we will confirm.

Why choose hydraulic clamping over a manual vise?

Clamping force is set rather than applied by hand, so every part in a batch is held the same and thin-walled parts are not distorted by over-tightening.

What clamping force does the vise develop?

Clamping force depends on the size chosen and on the pressure set. Tell us the size and your application and we will confirm the working figures before you order.

Are soft jaws available?

Yes. Tell us the parts you clamp and we will quote hard or soft jaws with the vise.

Will it fit my machine table?

Send us your table slot spacing and size and we will confirm the mounting arrangement with the quotation.

How is the vise packed and shipped?

Packed individually and shipped from our storehouse in Xi'an. Tell us the quantity and your port and we will quote FOB CFR or CIF.

What are your payment terms?

30 percent by T/T on order and 70 percent before shipment, or an irrevocable L/C at sight.
