What Silver Stranded Wire Is For
Silver stranded wire is the specification for flexible conductors where surface conductivity and long-term stability have to hold up better than plain copper manages. It is supplied as silver-plated stranded copper or in silver-copper alloy, and pure silver wire can also be supplied where the application justifies it. Manufacturing process

- Apply silver plating where specified, at 0.3 um to 2 um.
- Strand to the agreed construction.
- Test resistance, tensile strength and elongation, then pack with a loading report.

- DC resistance measured on a resistance tester to confirm the conductor lands on the agreed value.
- Tensile testing for tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and elongation after fracture.
