Standard Rubber & Plastic Pads

Rubber Pad 6

A tall face with no plain border, so every square millimetre of the pad is working. It is the hardest variant to demould cleanly and the one that shows tool wear first.

Dimensions are built to your drawing or to a supplied sample. Compound and Shore A hardness are confirmed on the drawing before any tool is cut.

The face on this part

Tall square pad with fine ribbing over the whole face. It sits in the Standard Rubber & Plastic Pads group, and the photograph above is of the part itself rather than a rendering — what you see is the tread, the outline and the finish as they leave the tool.

With no metal face, the compound is the part

There is nothing to hide behind. A pad that is too hard makes its tread pattern useless; one that is too soft wears through at the rib tips. Send the service conditions and our designers will propose a grade rather than asking you to guess one.

How the compound is proven

Shore A hardness, density, ozone, ageing, tensile strength, elongation to fracture, vulcanization and insulation resistivity, oil resistance and Mooney viscosity — all run in the Beijing facility, next to the press rather than a week away.

Tooling and first parts

All tooling is designed and made in house. Parts from a prototype tool reach you in 4 weeks, which is the window in which the face, the retention and the hardness can still be changed without restarting anything.

Questions buyers ask

Which compound will this part be moulded in?

Whichever the drawing calls for. We run EPDM, SBR, TPE, TPE-SEBS, PVC and PP with or without glass reinforcement; if you have not fixed a compound yet, send the service conditions and we will propose one.

How long before I see a real Rubber Pad 6 sample?

Our prototype shop exists for exactly this. Parts from a prototype tool take 4 weeks; PPAP to ISO/TS 16949 or VDA, on production parts, is typically 8 weeks after that.

What do you need from us to quote it?

A drawing, or a physical sample we can measure. Our designers work in SolidWorks, Pro-E and UG, so a native or STEP file is enough to start.

How is the material verified?

Through the nine test methods we run in Beijing, and through CTI — Centre Testing International Corporation, Shanghai — where an accredited third-party result is required.

Quote the Rubber Pad 6

Send the annual volume and, if you have one, the drawing. Prototype parts follow 4 weeks after a prototype tool.
