Case Study
Marketplace Seller Launches A Camera Feeder Listing
A private label seller operating in the United States pet category, running a small portfolio of listings.
The Challenge
Where The Programme Started
The seller had a proven listing on a basic feeder and wanted to move up into camera models, but a previous attempt with another factory produced a return rate high enough to sink the listing before it gathered reviews.
Specific Issues Raised
- Earlier camera feeder returned frequently for connection failures
- Full container quantities tied up cash before demand was proven
- FBA prep errors on a previous shipment delayed a launch by three weeks
- Packaging arriving crushed through the courier network
Our Solution
What We Proposed
We started with the 4 L camera model at 500 units rather than a container. The connection problem in the earlier product traced back to 2.4 GHz only pairing on modern dual-band routers, so we specified a model accepting both bands. Packaging was redesigned and drop tested in the e-commerce configuration.
Delivery
How The Work Was Done
- 1
Sample units tested with the seller's own kibble and router before any order
- 2
Launch quantity set at 500 units to gather reviews before scaling
- 3
FNSKU labelling and carton marking completed at the factory
- 4
Cartons drop tested at 80 cm on six faces in courier configuration
- 5
Components held in stock for 15-day replenishment once velocity appeared
Outcome
What Changed For The Client
Launch shipment cleared FBA check-in without reconciliation
Connection complaints did not reappear in the review set
Replenishment cycle held at 15 days through the first season
Seller added a second camera model to the same account

Answers
Questions About This Case
Can you share the client name
No. We do not publish customer names, listings or store locations. Every case on this site is described with the commercial detail removed, and we will do the same for your project.
Can we speak to a reference customer
In some markets, yes, where the customer has agreed in advance and does not compete with you. Ask during the quotation stage and we will tell you what is possible.
Could you build the same thing for us
The models involved are available to any buyer. Where a case involved custom tooling, that specific housing stays with the client who paid for it, but a comparable solution can be developed for you.
