Cone Crusher Burning Ring
The sacrificial ring that protects the head above the mantle
What This Casting Does And Why It Matters
The burning ring sits above the mantle and takes the feed that would otherwise erode the top of the head and the mantle nut. It is a low-cost casting that prevents an expensive one from being destroyed. PangLei casts burning rings in manganese and alloy steel to suit the cone models we already pattern, and supplies them with mantle orders so the head is protected from the first hour of the new liner's life.
Technical Features
- Cast in austenitic manganese steel or alloy steel to suit the duty
- Dimensions reproduced from the original ring
- Heat treated with the same controlled quench cycle as the liner range
- Dimensional inspection report issued with the order

What You Get That You Would Not Get Elsewhere
Protects the head and mantle nut from feed erosion
Low-cost consumable that extends the life of a far more expensive casting
Cast to the same models we already hold cone patterns for
Ships with the mantle so the pair is fitted at the same change-out
The Failures This Part Is Cast To Prevent
- Erosion of the head casting above the mantle
- Mantle nuts washed out by feed before the mantle itself is worn
- A small part that is easy to forget until the head is already damaged
- Suppliers who list liners but not the cone spares around them
Who It Is For
- Cone crusher operators changing liner sets
- Maintenance teams rebuilding crusher heads
- Dealers supplying complete cone spare packages
- Contract crushing fleets
Application Scenarios
- Scheduled liner change-outs
- Head rebuilds after feed damage
- Preventive spares held alongside liner stock
- Mobile cone plant servicing

How This Casting Is Made
Pattern Making
Once drawings are confirmed, pattern making starts immediately in our own pattern shop. Thousands of finished patterns are already on the shelf, so repeat parts skip this step entirely.
Sandbox Making
Casting Process Simulation System (CPSS) is run before the moulds are made. The cavity is kept as solid and as clean as possible so that inclusions have nowhere to start.
Melting And Pouring
Charge materials are bought to a high standard and temperature is controlled through the whole pour to achieve a fine grain structure. Samples are taken to verify the analysis and adjusted if needed, then kept for at least three years for traceability.
Sandbox Opening
Also called casting cleaning. After initial cooling the box is opened, risers and runners are removed and the casting is cleaned. Cooling time is set by casting size, not by the clock.
Heat Treatment
Heating temperature is strictly controlled and castings are spaced in the furnace so they heat uniformly and meet the water fully. Quenching begins within 30 seconds of withdrawal from the oven.
Machining
After rectifying and polishing, castings are machined strictly to drawing for correct fitment. QC then carries out dimensional inspection and issues the dimensional inspection report.
Inspection
Our own physical and chemical laboratory covers spectrometry, hardness, microstructure, dye penetrant and dimensional inspection on site rather than at a third party.
Packing And Delivery
Finished parts are packed on steel pallets for forklift handling, to international standards for road, rail, sea and air transport.

How This Part Compares With The Alternatives
| Compared With | What Changes |
|---|---|
| Running without a burning ring | The feed erodes the head and the mantle nut directly, turning a cheap consumable into a major casting repair. |
| Sourcing the ring separately from the liners | Ordered with the liner set it arrives on the same pallet for the same change-out, rather than being fitted a cycle late. |
| A fabricated ring | A cast ring in manganese or alloy steel matches the wear behaviour of the parts around it rather than wearing at a different rate. |
If Your Part Is Not Standard
With our own pattern shop, a 3D scanner and Casting Process Simulation System, we work from your drawing, your worn sample, or a scan taken on your site. Material grade, profile and machining are all specified against your machine rather than against a catalogue.
- Reverse engineering from a worn part, with no drawing required
- On-site 3D scanning where the component cannot be removed
- Material grade selected against your feed rather than a default
- Pattern retained afterwards, so repeat orders skip pattern making
Fitting And Getting The Life Out Of It
- Fit the burning ring at every mantle change, not every second one
- Inspect the head surface under the ring while it is removed
- Confirm the ring bore against the head before assembly
- Order with the liner set so both arrive together

Cone Crusher Burning Ring Questions
Is a burning ring supplied as standard with a mantle?
It is quoted alongside the mantle rather than included by default, because not every machine uses one. Tell us the crusher model and we will confirm.
What material is used?
Austenitic manganese steel or alloy steel, depending on the machine and the feed.
Can you cast a burning ring for a model you have not listed?
Yes, from your sample or drawing, through our pattern shop and 3D scanning service.
How often should it be replaced?
At each mantle change in most applications. It is a sacrificial part and is far cheaper than head repair.
