It is set by the stud length and it controls how tight or soft the halo is. Specify it rather than accepting a default, because it changes the whole look.
Not necessarily. Warm LED renders wall paint differently from cool white. If the wall colour is fixed, tell us and we will confirm the LED colour against it.
