A solid metal letter over about 300mm becomes too heavy and too expensive to cut from plate. Fabrication solves both: the letter is hollow, the material cost drops with size, and the return depth becomes a design choice instead of a limit.

316 contains molybdenum and resists chloride pitting, which matters within a few hundred metres of the sea or around a pool. Inland, 304 performs the same and costs less. Both grades are available across this category.
No. A closed fabricated letter cannot be opened and re-sealed reliably, so the decision to illuminate has to be made before production. If you might light it later, order a channel letter now.
From a Pantone or RAL code supplied before production. We paint or powder coat to the code. A photograph or screen colour is not enough to work from.
Back screw bolt or 3M double-sided adhesive tape depending on the product, with all accessories and a 1:1 scale mounting template in the carton.
