Welded aluminium letters, chosen when the sign is large, the wall is weak, or the air is salty.
A three-metre stainless wordmark can be too heavy for the substrate it has to hang on, and too expensive for the budget. Aluminium weighs less, welds cleanly and takes powder coating, which is why it is the factory recommendation for big letters and for marine environments.
Facade signage on buildings, coastal hotels, marina developments and anywhere the letter height runs past what stainless can sensibly carry.

View specificationAnodising grows the protective layer into the metal and gives a brushed metal look, but the colour range is narrow. Powder coating gives any Pantone or RAL colour. Pick anodising for a metal appearance and powder coating for a brand colour.
It does not rust the way carbon steel does, and it is lighter than stainless at the same size, which reduces the load on fixings that will also be dealing with wind. 316 stainless is the alternative when the finish has to be steel.
It is possible but risky on powder coated work, because a later batch can shift in colour. If the set might grow, tell us at the time of the first order.
They dent more easily in transit, which is why they are crated more heavily. Once mounted, the construction is closed and self-supporting in both materials.
