Ultrasonic Flow Sensor 1MHz
A 1 MHz transit-time transducer pair that starts up quickly and returns an easily identified signal edge, so the metering ASIC can lock onto the upstream and downstream arrival times without long averaging.
- High sensitivity
- It starts up quickly and the signal is easy to identify
The problem it solves. A water meter has to resolve a flow difference measured in nanoseconds of transit time, on battery power, for years, with no moving part to wear.
Ask for: operating frequency, dimensions, supply voltage, lead length and connector. These are confirmed per order against the current drawing.
Specifications

| Nominal frequency | 1 MHz |
| Medium | Liquids, including water |
| Collar | Moulded light blue collar around the ceramic face |
| Lead | Twin grey lead wire |
| Beam angle and dimensions | TBC - confirm with the engineering team |
Application scenarios
- Smart water meter flow monitoring
- Distance measurement in water
Why this configuration
- Fast start-up shortens the transmit window, which is where a battery-powered meter spends most of its energy budget.
- A clean, easily identified echo edge reduces the averaging needed for a stable reading at low flow.
- Supplied as a matched pair on request, so the two channels of a transit-time path behave the same.
Questions engineers ask about this sensor
1 MHz or 2 MHz for my meter?
1 MHz penetrates further and tolerates more attenuation, which suits a larger bore or a less clean medium. 2 MHz gives a shorter wavelength and finer timing resolution in a small bore. Tell us your pipe size and medium and we will recommend one.
Can the pair be frequency-matched?
Yes. State that you need a matched pair in your enquiry and we will pair units from the same production batch.
Does it work for distance measurement in water as well as flow?
Yes - in-water ranging is one of the listed application scenarios for this transducer. The same acoustic path is used, with the timing taken as a round trip instead of a differential.
What lead length can I get?
Lead length is specified per order. Give us the distance from the transducer boss to the meter board.
