A screw that pulls through thin sheet, a drywall screw that snaps at the neck, a bright zinc bolt that streaks a stainless facade — none of those are manufacturing faults. They are the wrong head, the wrong thread form or the wrong finish for the job. We publish the whole matrix — eleven head types, seven drives, six point types, six thread forms and fifteen finishes — so the specification can be got right before anything is made.
Point and thread chosen against the substrate
TEK#1 to TEK#5 and Type 17 points; Type-A, BSB, CSB, hi-low, machine and double thread forms. The point number follows the steel thickness, the thread form follows the material it lands in.
Finish chosen against the exposure, not the colour
Fifteen finishes from plain through black phosphate to dacromet, Ruspert and Xylan. Salt spray runs 24 to 2000 hours by material and finish, and up to 3000 hours on the stainless self drilling line.
Material chosen against the service life
Mild, medium carbon and alloy steel; stainless SUS201, 202, 302, 304, 305, 316, 410 and 430; brass and aluminium. Property classes 4.8 to 12.9 and A2-70 to A4-80.
Standards, or your drawing
JIS, ANSI, DIN, BSW, GB, ISO, BS and IFI are all held. Where none of them fits, we make to the customer's own drawing and sample.
