AKM-76 Flux-Cored Wire for High-Strength Low-Alloy and Armor Steel Welding.
A seamless flux-cored wire with ultra-low diffusible hydrogen content, designed for robot automatic welding of low-alloy high-strength steel and armor steel with yield strength exceeding 690 MPa.
Product Overview
AKM-76 is a metal powder type seamless flux-cored wire containing 2% Ni and 0.3% Mo, formulated for welding low-alloy high-strength steel with yield strength exceeding 690 MPa and armor steel at the same strength level.
The wire features ultra-low diffusible hydrogen content (≤3 ml/100g), a soft and stable arc, minimal spatter, and a clean weld appearance with almost no slag, least smoke and dust, and high deposition efficiency, making it especially suitable for robot automatic welding.
Application: It is suitable for welding low-alloy high- strength steel with yield strength exceeding 690MPa and armor steel with the same strength level.
Key Benefits
Ultra-Low Diffusible Hydrogen
With diffusible hydrogen content ≤3 ml/100g, AKM-76 reduces the risk of hydrogen-induced cracking in high-strength and hardenable base metals.
Stable Arc and Minimal Spatter.
The soft and stable arc, combined with low spatter, ensures consistent weld quality and reduces post-weld cleaning time, especially in automated welding environments.
Clean Weld Appearance with Almost No Slag.
The flux-cored design produces a weld bead with minimal slag, reducing the need for inter-pass cleaning and improving weld surface quality.
High Deposition Efficiency for Automation.
High deposition efficiency and low smoke and dust levels make AKM-76 ideal for robot automatic welding, where process stability and clean operation are critical.
Excellent Low-Temperature Impact Performance.
The deposited metal achieves impact values of 27 J at minus 20 degrees C, 98 J at minus 40 degrees C, and 75 J at minus 50 degrees C, ensuring toughness in severe service conditions.

How It Compares
AKM-76 and E110C-K4 both meet AWS A5.18 E110C-K4 and are used for high-strength steel welding. AKM-76 is a seamless flux-cored wire with ultra-low diffusible hydrogen and high deposition efficiency, ideal for robot welding. Solid wires may offer higher deposition but require higher shielding gas and are less tolerant of joint contamination. Basic-coated electrodes may have higher hydrogen content and are less suitable for automation. AKM-76’s low spatter and slag-free welds reduce cleaning time compared to conventional flux-cored wires.
