How It Compares
AK-S60SD and AK-AF217SD are a wire-flux pair for submerged arc welding of high-strength low alloy steel. They differ from standard carbon steel combinations by offering higher strength, improved toughness at low temperatures, and better crack resistance. Compared to basic fluxes, this sintered flux provides a more stable arc and easier slag removal. For applications requiring lower hydrogen content, a different flux type may be needed, but this combination is optimized for high-strength structural welding.
