Key Benefits
Stable Arc and Clean Bead Formation.
The AK-AF205 flux ensures a stable arc and consistent weld pool behavior, resulting in a smooth, well-formed bead with minimal spatter and easy slag removal.
Low Diffused Hydrogen Content.
The alkali-fluoride composition of AK-AF205 limits diffused hydrogen in the deposited metal, reducing the risk of hydrogen-induced cracking in high-strength steels.
Good Crack Resistance and Low-Temperature Toughness.
Deposited metal achieves impact values of at least 27 J at minus 20 degrees C and 95 J at minus 40 degrees C, supporting use in low-temperature environments.
Compatibility with 600MPa Class Steels.
The combination is suitable for welding 600MPa class low alloy steel structures used in shipbuilding, machinery, chemical plants, bridges, and steel structures.

How It Compares
AK-H08Mn2MoA/AK-AF205 is a submerged arc welding system for high-strength low alloy steel. It differs from basic fluxes in its alkali-fluoride composition, which provides lower hydrogen content and better slag removal. Compared to rutile or mixed fluxes, it offers superior crack resistance and low-temperature impact properties. It is not intended for use with low-strength steels where simpler systems may be sufficient.
