AK-ERNiCrMo-4 Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum Gas Welding Wire for Corrosion-Resistant Alloys.
A Ni-Cr-Mo type argon gas welding wire with high pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, suitable for welding nickel-based alloys and dissimilar metals including 9% Ni steel.
Product Overview
AK-ERNiCrMo-4 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum type argon gas welding wire with a nominal composition of 57 Ni-16 Cr-15.5 Mo-5.5 Fe-4 W. It is designed for welding Ni-Cr-Mo alloys and dissimilar metal joints, including 9% Ni steel and surfaces requiring corrosion-resistant overlays.
The deposited metal exhibits excellent mechanical properties, with tensile strength of at least 690 MPa and elongation of at least 27 percent. It also provides outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, making it suitable for aggressive environments.
The wire delivers a stable arc, a smooth and attractive weld bead appearance, and excellent fluidity of the molten metal, which enhances weldability and reduces the risk of defects.
Application: Suitable for the welding of Ni-Cr-Mo alloy, such asASTMB574, B619, B628and UNS N10276 and etc; can also be used for dissimilar metal welding on the surface, or the welding of 9Ni steel.
Key Benefits
High Corrosion Resistance
The wire produces deposited metal with excellent pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, suitable for service in harsh chemical and marine environments.
Stable Arc and Good Weld Appearance.
The welding process features a stable arc and produces a smooth, well-formed weld bead with minimal spatter, reducing post-weld cleanup.
Excellent Metal Fluidity
High fluidity of the molten weld metal improves wetting and fusion, especially in complex joint geometries and thin sections.
Suitable for Dissimilar Metal Welding.
The wire can be used for welding dissimilar metals, including nickel-based alloys and 9% Ni steel, ensuring compatibility and integrity in multi-material joints.
Where It Is Used
- Welding of Ni-Cr-Mo alloys such as ASTM B574, B619, B628, and UNS N10276.
- Surface welding for corrosion-resistant overlays.
- Dissimilar metal welding involving nickel-based alloys and 9% Ni steel.
- Fabrication and repair in chemical processing, petrochemical, and offshore industries.
Who It Is For

Use Guide
- Select the appropriate wire diameter based on joint thickness and welding position; ensure compatibility with the base metal and shielding gas.
- Clean the joint surfaces thoroughly to remove oil, grease, moisture, and oxides before welding to prevent contamination.
- Use argon or argon-rich shielding gas as specified in the welding procedure specification.
- Maintain consistent travel speed and arc length to achieve a stable arc and uniform bead profile.
- Follow recommended welding parameters for the specific application and base metal thickness.
How It Compares
AK-ERNiCrMo-4 is designed for welding Ni-Cr-Mo alloys such as UNS N10276 and is suitable for dissimilar metal joints. It differs from standard stainless steel wires in composition and corrosion resistance. While some nickel-based wires may offer higher strength, AK-ERNiCrMo-4 balances mechanical properties with excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. It is not intended for low-alloy or carbon steel welding.
