AK-ERNiCrMo-3 Nickel Alloy TIG Rod for High-Performance Corrosion-Resistant Welding.
A nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy TIG rod designed for welding Inconel 625, Incoloy 825, and dissimilar metals, with excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in service temperatures up to 540℃.
Product Overview
AK-ERNiCrMo-3 is a nickel-based alloy TIG rod with a nominal composition of 61% Ni-22% Cr-9% Mo-3.5% Nb+Ta, used for gas tungsten arc welding of nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys and dissimilar metal joints involving nickel alloys and stainless steel.
The deposited metal exhibits high tensile strength, excellent mechanical properties, and outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, making it suitable for use in aggressive environments from low temperature up to 540℃.
The rod provides a stable arc, good weld pool fluidity, and a smooth, attractive weld bead appearance, which supports consistent weld quality across various joint configurations.
Application: Suitable for welding Ni-Cr-Mo alloy, such as Inconel 625, Incoloy 825, can be used for dissimilar metal welding and buildup welding with nickel alloy and stainless steel, can be used in environment between low temperature to 540℃.
Key Benefits
Excellent Corrosion Resistance
The deposited metal resists pitting and crevice corrosion in harsh environments, meeting the performance requirements for applications in chemical processing, oil and gas, and marine environments.
High Tensile Strength
The deposited metal achieves a minimum tensile strength of 760 MPa, ensuring structural integrity under demanding mechanical loads.
Stable Arc and Good Fluidity.
The rod delivers a stable arc during welding and excellent molten metal flow, resulting in a smooth, uniform bead with minimal spatter and easy control of the weld pool.
Suitable for Dissimilar Metal Welding.
AK-ERNiCrMo-3 can be used to join nickel alloys such as Inconel 625 and Incoloy 825 to stainless steel, enabling reliable performance in mixed-material systems.
Where It Is Used
- Welding of Inconel 625 and Incoloy 825 nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys.
- Dissimilar metal welding between nickel alloys and stainless steel.
- Buildup welding on components exposed to corrosive media.
- Service environments ranging from low temperature to 540℃.
Who It Is For
- Welding consumable distributors supplying high-performance filler metals for industrial and offshore applications.

Use Guide
- Select rod diameter based on joint thickness and welding position; ensure the welding current is within the recommended range for the chosen diameter.
- Clean the base metal surfaces thoroughly from oil, grease, oxides, and moisture before welding to prevent contamination and porosity.
- Maintain a short arc length and consistent travel speed to achieve uniform bead appearance and avoid defects such as undercut or incomplete fusion.
How It Compares
AK-ERNiCrMo-3 is designed for high-performance corrosion-resistant welding and differs from standard stainless steel or low-alloy TIG rods in composition and application. It is not a substitute for ER308L or ER316L in mild steel or standard stainless steel joints. Compared to ERNiCr-3, AK-ERNiCrMo-3 offers higher molybdenum content, which enhances resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. It is also more suitable than ERNiFeCr-2 for applications requiring higher strength and better resistance to reducing acids.
