AK-ER60SD Copper-Plated Gas Shielded Wire for 600MPa Low Alloy Steel Welding.
A low alloy steel gas shielded wire with stable arc, minimal spatter, and excellent mechanical properties, designed for structural steel applications requiring 600MPa tensile strength.
Product Overview
AK-ER60SD is a copper-plated gas shielded welding wire for low alloy steel, formulated for use with rich argon or CO2 shielding gas. It delivers high deposition rate, stable arc, low spatter, and a smooth, attractive weld bead profile.
The wire is intended for welding structural steels with a minimum tensile strength of 600 MPa. It meets the chemical and mechanical requirements specified in EN ISO, AWS A5.28 ER90S-G, and GB/T 8110 ER60-G standards.
Common applications include hydropower structures, bridges, petrochemical equipment, engineering and coal mining machinery, where weld metal must match the strength and toughness of the base material.
Application: AK-ER60SD is low alloy steel copper-plated gas shielded wire, wire melting speed, arc stability, small spatter, beautiful weld shape, weld metal has good mechanical properties. Suitable for welding 600MPa steel structure. Commonly used in the same strength level of hydropower, bridges, petrochemical, engineering machinery, coal mining machinery and other structural steel welding.
Key Benefits
High Tensile Strength and Toughness.
The deposited metal achieves a minimum tensile strength of 600 MPa and yield stress of 480 MPa, with impact energy of at least 27 J at minus 40 degrees C, suitable for low-temperature service.
Stable Arc and Low Spatter.
The copper-plated surface and optimized chemistry ensure consistent arc stability and minimal spatter during welding, reducing post-weld cleanup and improving process efficiency.
Clean, Aesthetic Weld Bead.
The wire produces a smooth, well-defined weld bead with good fusion and minimal undercut, reducing the need for grinding and rework.
Suitable for Multiple Structural Applications.
Designed for use in high-strength structural steel welding across hydropower, bridge, petrochemical, and heavy machinery sectors where performance and reliability are critical.
Where It Is Used
- Welding of 600MPa strength structural steel in hydropower projects.
- Bridge and heavy civil infrastructure fabrication.
- Petrochemical and pressure vessel components.
- Engineering and mining machinery structures.
- High-strength steel joints requiring good low-temperature toughness.
Who It Is For
- Welding consumable distributors supplying structural steel welding solutions.
