AK-ER310 Austenitic Stainless Steel Welding Wire for High-Temperature Applications.
A 26%Cr-21%Ni pure austenitic stainless steel wire with stable arc and excellent high-temperature corrosion resistance up to 1200 C, suitable for all-position welding.
Product Overview
AK-ER310 is a 26%Cr-21%Ni pure austenitic stainless steel welding wire designed for high-temperature service environments. It meets EN ISO 14343-A:G 25 20, AWS A5.9 ER310, and GB/T 29713 S310 standards.
The wire provides good high-temperature corrosion resistance up to 1200 C and is suitable for welding and cladding of high-temperature components, including those made from 2520 steel and dissimilar steels.
Application: For high temperature resistant products such as high temperature fur naces. Coal coking equipment, such as 2520 steel, can also be used for cladding and welding of dissimilar steels.
Key Benefits
High-Temperature Corrosion Resistance
The 26% Cr and 21% Ni composition delivers strong resistance to oxidation and corrosion at temperatures up to 1200 C, making it suitable for furnace and coal coking equipment.
Stable Arc and Smooth Weld Bead.
The wire produces a stable welding arc and a clean, well-shaped weld bead, reducing the need for post-weld grinding and improving joint appearance.
All-Position Welding Capability
AK-ER310 can be welded in all positions—flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead—without requiring changes in consumable or technique.
Suitable for Cladding and Dissimilar Steel Welding.
It is effective for cladding applications and joining dissimilar steels, particularly where high-temperature performance is required.
Where It Is Used
- High-temperature furnace components
- Coal coking equipment and related industrial vessels.
- Cladding of 2520 steel and similar high-temperature alloys.
- Welding dissimilar steels requiring austenitic filler metal.
Who It Is For
- Welding consumable distributors supplying high-temperature welding solutions.
- Fabricators of industrial furnaces and thermal processing equipment.
- Maintenance teams working on coal coking and petrochemical systems.
- Contractors performing cladding and dissimilar steel welding in high-temperature service.
Problems It Solves
- Achieving reliable weld metal performance in high-temperature environments where standard stainless steels degrade rapidly.
- Matching filler metal chemistry to base metals like 2520 steel and dissimilar alloys without compromising corrosion resistance.
- Ensuring consistent weld quality across all positions without changing consumables or parameters.

Use Guide
- Select wire diameter based on joint thickness and welding position; ensure the welding current is within the recommended range for the chosen diameter.
- Clean the base metal surface from oil, grease, rust, and scale before welding to avoid contamination and porosity.
- Use inert gas shielding (typically argon or argon-rich mixtures) for MIG/MAG welding to maintain weld quality and prevent oxidation.
- Store the wire in a dry environment and avoid exposure to moisture; re-bake if exposed to humid conditions before use.
How It Compares
AK-ER310 is a pure austenitic stainless steel wire with high chromium and nickel content, suitable for high-temperature applications. It differs from ER308 and ER309 wires, which have lower Cr and Ni levels and are used in lower-temperature or non-oxidizing environments. ER310 is specifically chosen when maximum oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures is required, such as in furnace linings and coking equipment.
