AK-ENiCrMo-4 Low Hydrogen Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum Electrode for Corrosion-Resistant Welding.
A low hydrogen manual electrode with excellent pitting and crack corrosion resistance, suitable for welding Ni-Cr-Mo alloys and dissimilar nickel alloy joints.
Product Overview
AK-ENiCrMo-4 is a low hydrogen type manual electrode with a nominal composition of 57% Ni-15.5% Cr-16% Mo-5.5% Fe-4% W and carbon content ≤0.20%. It belongs to the Ni-Cr-Mo alloy family and is designed for welding low carbon Ni-Cr-Mo series alloys such as Hastelloy C276 (ASTM B574).
The electrode delivers excellent corrosion resistance, particularly against pitting and crack corrosion, and maintains stable arc performance with a beautiful bead appearance, minimal spatter, easy slag removal, and strong resistance to porosity. Deposited metal mechanical properties remain consistent across weld runs.
Application: Suitable for welding low carbon Ni-Cr-Mo series alloy. such as Haste lloy C276 ASTMB574,and etc ;Can be used for dissimilar steel welding between di fferent nickel alloy.
Key Benefits
Excellent Corrosion Resistance
The electrode provides high resistance to pitting and crack corrosion, making it suitable for service environments where aggressive chemical exposure is expected.
Stable Arc and Clean Weld Bead.
The low hydrogen coating ensures a stable arc, a smooth and attractive weld bead, and minimal spatter, reducing post-weld cleaning and rework.
Easy Slag Removal and Blowhole Resistance.
Slag lifts off easily after welding, and the electrode shows strong resistance to porosity, reducing the risk of defects in the weld metal.
Consistent Mechanical Properties
Deposited metal maintains stable mechanical properties, with tensile strength ≥790 MPa and elongation ≥25%.
Where It Is Used
- Welding of low carbon Ni-Cr-Mo series alloys, including Hastelloy C276 (ASTM B574)
- Dissimilar welding between different nickel alloys.
- Applications requiring high resistance to corrosive environments, such as chemical processing and petrochemical equipment.
Who It Is For
- Welding consumable distributors supplying specialty alloys.
- Fabricators and maintenance teams working with nickel-based alloys in corrosive service.
- Contractors performing dissimilar metal welding in oil & gas, chemical, and power plant environments.
Problems It Solves
- Achieving reliable welds in high-corrosion environments where pitting and crack resistance are critical.
- Avoiding porosity and slag inclusions in welds due to poor slag control or hydrogen sensitivity.
- Ensuring consistent mechanical properties in weld metal when joining nickel alloys with varying compositions.

Use Guide
- Select electrode diameter based on joint thickness and access; use recommended current ranges to maintain arc stability and avoid overheating.
- Clean joint surfaces thoroughly to remove oil, grease, moisture, and contaminants before welding.
- Store electrodes in sealed packaging and re-dry if exposed to humidity before use to maintain low hydrogen levels.
- Remove slag completely between passes to prevent entrapment and ensure sound weld metal in subsequent runs.
How It Compares
AK-ENiCrMo-4 is a Ni-Cr-Mo alloy electrode designed for high corrosion resistance and stable welding performance. Unlike standard low alloy electrodes, it is not suitable for carbon steel. Compared to other nickel-based electrodes, its composition balances high molybdenum and chromium levels for enhanced resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking, particularly in chloride-containing environments. It is not intended for use in low-temperature service unless specifically qualified.
