AK-ENiCrFe-3 Nickel-Chromium-Iron Alloy Electrode for High-Temperature and Dissimilar Welding.
A low hydrogen manual electrode for welding Ni-Cr-Fe alloys and dissimilar joints, offering stable arc, clean bead, and consistent mechanical properties up to 480°C.
Product Overview
AK-ENiCrFe-3 is a low hydrogen manual electrode with a nominal composition of 65% Ni-15% Cr-8% Fe-7.5% Mn-2% Nb+Ta-1.5% Mo, designed for welding Ni-Cr-Fe series alloys such as Inconel 600 and similar materials.
The electrode delivers high temperature strength and oxidation resistance due to its high alloy content, and is suitable for service temperatures ranging from low temperature up to 480°C.
It provides a stable arc, beautiful weld bead appearance, minimal spatter, easy slag removal, and excellent resistance to porosity, with consistent deposited metal mechanical properties.
Application: Suitable for the welding of Ni-Cr-Fe series alloy, such as Inconel 600. and similar alloy; Can also be used for buildup welding on the surface of steel when extra Mn content is harmless in the application in use;Can be used for dissimilar we lding between steel and other nickel alloy.
Key Benefits
Stable Arc and Clean Bead.
The low hydrogen coating ensures a stable arc during welding, resulting in a smooth, well-formed bead with minimal spatter and easy slag removal.
High Temperature Performance
The high nickel and chromium content provides enhanced strength and oxidation resistance, making the weld metal suitable for service up to 480°C.
Excellent Porosity Resistance
The electrode exhibits strong resistance to blowholes, reducing the risk of defects in the weld deposit, especially in challenging welding conditions.
Consistent Mechanical Properties
Deposited metal meets specified tensile strength, yield stress, and elongation requirements, ensuring reliable performance in critical applications.
Where It Is Used
- Welding of Ni-Cr-Fe alloys such as Inconel 600.
- Buildup welding on steel surfaces where additional manganese content is acceptable.
- Dissimilar welding between carbon steel and other nickel-based alloys.
- High-temperature service applications requiring oxidation resistance and strength.
Who It Is For
- Welding consumable distributors supplying specialty alloys for industrial and power plant applications.
- Fabricators and maintenance teams working with high-temperature alloys in petrochemical and power generation environments.
- Contractors performing dissimilar welding in refinery and pipeline systems.
Problems It Solves
- Achieving consistent weld metal properties in high-temperature Ni-Cr-Fe alloy joints without porosity or weak zones.
- Welding dissimilar materials like steel and nickel alloys without compromising joint integrity or causing embrittlement.
- Reducing rework due to poor bead appearance, slag entrapment, or blowholes in manual welding operations.

Use Guide
- Select electrode diameter based on joint thickness and welding position; ensure current settings are within the recommended range for the selected size.
- Clean joint surfaces thoroughly from oil, grease, rust, and moisture before welding to prevent hydrogen-induced cracking.
- Store electrodes in sealed packaging and re-dry if exposed to humidity; follow re-baking instructions if required.
- Remove slag completely between passes to avoid inclusions and ensure good interpass fusion.
How It Compares
AK-ENiCrFe-3 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy electrode suitable for high-temperature and dissimilar welding. It differs from standard low carbon steel electrodes by offering superior oxidation resistance and strength at elevated temperatures. Compared to other nickel-based electrodes, it provides a balanced composition with higher manganese and controlled niobium/titanium content, which enhances weldability and reduces porosity risk. It is not intended for low-temperature service below ambient unless specified by application requirements.
