AK-E347T1-1 Flux-Cored Wire for Stabilized Stainless Steel Welding.
A gas shielded flux-cored wire designed for all-position welding of 347 and 321 stainless steel, with niobium stabilization to prevent intergranular corrosion.
Product Overview
AK-E347T1-1 is a flux-cored welding wire for gas shielded arc welding of stabilized stainless steels. It is formulated to weld 347 and 321 stainless steel grades, with niobium (Nb) as the stabilizing element to prevent intergranular corrosion.
The weld deposit contains 5-15% ferrite, which supports good resistance to hot cracking and maintains mechanical properties in the weld zone. It is supplied to EN ISO 17633-A:T 19 9 Nb R M 3, AWS A5.22 E347T1-1, and GB/T 17853 E347T1-1 standards.
Application: Used to weld important anti- corrosion steel which contains Nb or nic kel-chrome alloys which Ti as the stabilized element.
Key Benefits
Intergranular Corrosion Resistance
Niobium is used as the stabilizing element in the wire, which binds carbon and prevents the formation of chromium carbides at grain boundaries, reducing the risk of intergranular corrosion in service.
All-Position Welding Capability
The wire is designed for all-position welding, allowing consistent performance in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead joints without requiring a change in consumable.
Ferrite-Controlled Deposit
The weld metal contains 5-15% ferrite, which helps resist hot cracking and improves toughness in the weld zone, particularly in high-heat-input applications.
Compatibility with Stabilized Alloys.
The wire is suitable for welding 347 and 321 stainless steel, as well as nickel-chrome alloys where titanium is used as the stabilizing element.
Where It Is Used
- Welding of 347 and 321 stainless steel in chemical and petrochemical plants.
- Fabrication of pressure vessels and heat exchangers requiring corrosion resistance.
- Repair and maintenance of equipment exposed to high-temperature and corrosive environments.
- Joining of nickel-chrome alloys with titanium stabilization.
Who It Is For
- Welding consumable distributors supplying stabilized stainless steel welding solutions.
- Fabricators working with 347 and 321 stainless steel in corrosive service.
- Maintenance teams in petrochemical and power generation industries requiring reliable welds in high-temperature environments.
Problems It Solves
- Preventing intergranular corrosion in welded joints of stabilized stainless steels by using a niobium-stabilized filler metal.
- Matching the correct filler metal chemistry to 347 and 321 stainless steel to meet service requirements, not just nominal composition.
- Avoiding the need to source multiple filler metals for different stabilized alloys when a single wire can cover multiple grades.

Use Guide
- Use 1.2 mm wire with voltage 22-36 V and current 120-260 A; use 1.6 mm wire with voltage 26-38 V and current 200-300 A.
- Ensure the base metal is clean and free of oil, grease, rust, and moisture before welding.
- Use a shielding gas as specified in the welding procedure, typically CO2 or a CO2-rich mixture.
- Maintain proper travel speed and arc length to avoid excessive spatter and ensure full fusion.
How It Compares
AK-E347T1-1 is designed for stabilized stainless steels like 347 and 321, where niobium is used to prevent intergranular corrosion. It differs from E308L and E316L wires, which are not stabilized and may be prone to sensitization in high-temperature service. Unlike E347, which is a covered electrode, AK-E347T1-1 is a flux-cored wire, offering higher deposition rates and better weld metal control in automated or semi-automated processes.
