Wire forms are bent, not wound. Handles, U shapes, W shapes, circular and linear frames, hangers and retainers are produced from spring steel, 65Mn, carbon steel and stainless wire on CNC forming machines, which makes them the practical answer whenever a part is a shape rather than a spring rate.

Wire forms are usually made by hand in small workshops, which is why the tenth piece rarely matches the first. Forming the part on a programmed machine means every bend angle and leg length repeats, so the part drops into an automated assembly instead of being bent to fit.
U, W, circular and linear geometries are formed in a single programmed cycle, so there is no accumulation of error from bending stations set by hand.

Nickel, zinc and galvanised finishes are chosen for parts like bucket handles and hangers that are gripped, hung and knocked in daily use.
Wire forms are supplied to pair with moulded plastic clips and housings where the wire provides the spring action and the plastic provides the interface.
