What This Machine Does
The J23 series is a general-purpose open eccentric press for forming blanking punching bending and other cold stamping work. The C frame body is cast, giving rigidity with little deflection so the punch and die stay in line and both the parts and the tools last longer, and the body can be tilted where the work needs the blank to slide clear of the die by gravity. The crankshaft is machined to close accuracy from special alloy steel and runs in bronze bushes, which is what keeps the stroke smooth and accurate over a long service life. A rigid rotated bond clutch, well supported, gives continuous strokes for mass production as well as single strokes for setting. The flywheel is high-grade cast iron, sized to store and release the energy each press stroke needs and balanced so the press runs smoothly, and the gears are steel. Operator controls are two-button and foot switch with anti-tie-down non-repeat logic and ring guards.
Why Buyers Choose This Machine
- Covers forming blanking punching and bending on one general-purpose press
- Cast C frame with minimum deflection keeps punch and die aligned for accurate parts and long tool life
- Tiltable body lets finished blanks clear the die by gravity
- Alloy steel crankshaft machined to close accuracy in bronze bushes runs smoothly and lasts
- Rigid rotated bond clutch gives continuous strokes for mass production
- Balanced high-grade cast iron flywheel stores and releases stroke energy for smooth running
- Anti-tie-down non-repeat two-button and foot switch controls with ring guards protect the operator
Where Power Press Machine J23 Earns Its Place
Problems It Solves
- Separate machines for bending punching and forming tie up floor space a single press can cover
- Frame deflection under load chips die edges and puts parts out of tolerance
- Finished parts left sitting in the die slow the cycle unless the press can be tilted
- A poorly supported crankshaft loses accuracy and the stroke wanders
- An undersized or unbalanced flywheel leaves the press short of energy at the bottom of the stroke
- Tied-down or repeating controls are a serious hazard on a mechanical press
Who It Is For
- Sheet metal stamping and press shops
- Hardware and fittings manufacturers
- Appliance and electrical component makers pressing small parts
- Toolrooms proving new dies before production
- Distributors supplying eccentric power presses
Application Scenarios
- Blanking and punching sheet metal components in volume
- Bending and forming pressed parts in cold stamping work
- Continuous stroke production runs on a progressive or single die
- Single stroke die setting and trial pressing
- Tilted operation where parts must fall clear of the die
- General job shop press work across varied small parts

How It Compares With the Alternatives
| J21 series open type press with steel-welded frame | The J21 uses a welded frame with a movable bolster for die setting outside the press; the J23 uses a cast tiltable body, which suits work where parts must fall clear of the die |
|---|---|
| Hydraulic press for the same parts | A hydraulic press gives full tonnage anywhere in the stroke and suits deep forming; the mechanical J23 is faster on repeated blanking and punching strokes |
| Producing parts by laser or plasma cutting | Cutting each part individually is flexible but slow in volume; once the die exists the press turns out identical parts at a stroke rate no cutting process matches |
Running the Machine
Step 1
Mount the die and set the shut height before connecting the drive
Step 2
Check punch to die clearance and alignment on a hand-turned stroke
Step 3
Select single stroke for setting and trial and change to continuous only once the die is proved
Step 4
Confirm the two-button and foot switch controls are working with the ring guards fitted
Step 5
Tilt the body only where the die and the part require it and secure the body in position
Step 6
Run a first-off part and inspect for burr and dimension before starting the batch
Step 7
Check the flywheel clutch and crankshaft lubrication on the schedule in the manual

Questions About Power Press Machine J23
What processes can the J23 do?
It is a general-purpose press for forming blanking punching bending and other cold stamping processes.
What press capacity should I order?
Send us the material thickness, the part and die dimensions and the production rate you need and we will confirm which J23 size to quote.
Can the press give continuous strokes?
Yes. The rigid rotated bond clutch gives continuous strokes for mass production, and single strokes are used for setting and trial work.
What operator safety controls are provided?
Two-button and foot switch control with anti-tie-down and non-repeat logic and ring guards. Tell us your local safety requirements and we will confirm what we can supply.
Why is the body tiltable?
Tilting the body lets finished blanks slide clear of the die by gravity, which speeds the cycle on parts that would otherwise sit in the tool.
What voltage and frequency do you build to?
Tell us your supply voltage frequency and phase and the press will be built for your market.
What are your payment and trade terms?
FOB CFR and CIF are available. Payment is 30 percent by T/T on order and 70 percent before shipment, or an irrevocable L/C at sight.
