Custom Medical Components

From single-use devices to complex assemblies

Moulded medical Y-connectors, stopcocks and luer fittings in several colours

Overview

Components designed and produced to your specification, from single-use devices through to complex assemblies. Custom parts exist because a catalogue component forces a compromise somewhere, and in a medical device that compromise usually lands on the clinician or the patient rather than on the engineer who accepted it.

Problems

What This Fixes

  • A standard component that forces the rest of the device to work around it
  • Assemblies built from parts sourced from three suppliers with three tolerance stacks
  • Single-use parts whose cost per unit decides whether the device is viable
  • Designs that cannot be manufactured as drawn and nobody said so

Benefits

What You Get

  • Components tailored to your exact specification rather than adapted from stock
  • We work closely with you through development rather than quoting from a drawing alone
  • Advanced technologies and innovative design practice applied to the component itself
  • Solutions aimed at patient care and operational efficiency, not only at part cost

Who For

Suited To

  • Device developers whose design does not fit any catalogue part
  • Teams consolidating a multi-part assembly into fewer moulded components
  • Manufacturers replacing an obsolete component in a mature device

Scenarios

Typical Jobs

  • A single-use fluid control part specific to one device family
  • A complex assembly delivered as one supplied item rather than a kit
  • A redesign that removes parts from an existing assembly

Technical

How It Runs

  • Design and production of custom components to supplied specifications
  • Advanced technologies and innovative design practice applied at component level
  • Clean room moulding available where the application requires it
  • Produced inside the ISO 13485:2016 system held by Sanpin Medical

Order Process

How This Job Would Run

The same eight stages apply whether the order is a single tool or a production programme.

Request A Quote

Send the part drawing or 3D file by email. An engineer comes back within 24 hours with a consultation, not an auto-reply.

DFM Report

Before any steel is cut we return a design-for-manufacture report that flags flaws and errors in the design, so they are fixed on paper.

Mould Design & Moldflow

A predictive model analyses how the molten material behaves inside the cavity. Flow analysis settles gating and cooling before tooling.

Mould Tooling Production

Tooling is cut from the steel grade chosen for the application, not from whatever is on the rack.

T1 Sample Inspection

First-trial samples go out for your inspection and review. Errors are identified on T1, before mass production is committed.

Low Volume Production

A low-volume run follows the trial phase, so precision is proven on real machines under expert surveillance before the ramp.

Strict Inspection

Parts are inspected against international tolerance standards and against the specification you supplied.

Delivery

Parts are packaged to survive the journey and released through our logistics partners on a scheduled delivery.

Questions

About Custom Medical Components

Do you design as well as manufacture?

Yes. We work closely with you to develop solutions, then produce them. Both sides of that sit inside the same business.

Can you handle a complete assembly?

From single-use devices to complex assemblies. Send the assembly drawing and we will come back on what we would supply as one item.

What makes a custom component worth the tooling?

Usually the fact that the standard part was forcing a compromise. That case is worth making explicitly before tooling is committed, and we will make it with you.
