The D series covers the heavier bolt-down and stud-mount bodies in the ball transfer range, designed to be fixed rigidly into a steel plate or frame and left there. Where a pressed cup is a surface fitting, a D unit becomes part of the structure.

Check the plate thickness and the thread reach before selecting a stud length; a stud that bottoms out will hold the housing off the plate and destroy the load rating.
