Conveyor Retrofit and Spares Programmes

Re-bearing, re-wheeling and re-driving existing conveyor rather than replacing it.

The problem

Most conveyor in service is mechanically sound and dimensionally obsolete: the tubes are straight, the frames are fine, and the end caps, wheels or drives are finished or no longer supplied. Replacement of the whole run is rarely justified.

Step by step

How the specification is built

1

Measure what is there

Tube diameter and inside diameter, roller face, overall length, shaft form and frame width. These five numbers decide everything else.

2

Match the bearing and cap

Housing to tube inside diameter, bearing to bore, shaft form to frame slot — all three have to match, not two.

3

Decide plastic or metal

Plastic for noise and corrosion at light to medium load, metal for heavy, hot or impact-loaded runs.

4

Add drive if needed

A gravity zone becomes driven by swapping one roller for a motor roller and fitting drive end caps to the idlers.

5

Order a trial batch

Fit a small quantity first and confirm the press fit and running noise before committing to the full run.

6

Stock the consumables

End caps, wheels and drive belts are the parts that stop lines; keep the ones your lanes use on the shelf.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you supply parts to match another manufacturer's rollers?

End caps and wheels are dimensional parts. Send the tube inside diameter, bore and shaft form, or a sample, and we confirm the match.

Is it cheaper to re-bearing than to buy new rollers?

Usually, when the tubes are straight and standard. Where tubes are dented or corroded, new rollers are the better spend.

Send us the layout

Give the load, product size and line length and we will specify the components.
