8CR-14738-00
The thickest section in the YAMAHA group, which is why it carries a CI60 compound code rather than one of the EP grades.

The face on this part
Thick-walled moulded rubber boot with a rectangular mouth. It sits in the YAMAHA Rubber Parts group, and the photograph above is of the part itself rather than a rendering — what you see is the tread, the outline and the finish as they leave the tool.
What we need to quote it
The drawing or the sample, the annual volume, and the service conditions the part sees. If the part already exists in this catalogue we will tell you that instead of quoting a new tool.
Where it is moulded
Rubber parts are moulded at our Beijing plant in Lucheng, HuangCun Town, Daxing; plastic parts at the Shanghai plant on Huqingping Road, Qingpu District, which is also home to our R&D centre.
One compound, one tool, one shot
The tread, the retaining geometry and any mounting holes or locating tabs are all formed in the tool rather than added afterwards. That is why the tool drawing and the part drawing are effectively the same document, and why a change to the face means a change to the tool.

Questions buyers ask
Can the tread pattern be changed?
The tread is cut into the tool, so a pattern change is a tool change. If you are early enough to be at prototype stage it costs little; after the production tool is cut it does not.
How long before I see a real 8CR-14738-00 sample?
All tooling is designed and made in house, and we deliver parts from a prototype tool in 4 weeks. Full PPAP to ISO/TS 16949 or VDA typically takes a further 8 weeks.
What do you need from us to quote it?
Send the sample if you have no drawing. We will measure it, model it and come back with a drawing for your approval before anything is cut.
How is the material verified?
Our production facilities in Beijing, Shanghai and Wuhan are ISO/TS certified, and the rubber test equipment sits next to the Beijing production line so a bad batch is stopped, not diagnosed later.
What does the CI60 marking on the part mean?
It is the customer's own compound designation, carried on the part so the grade travels with it. The letters give the family — EP for the EPDM grades, NBR for nitrile — and the digits give the nominal Shore A hardness.
Quote the 8CR-14738-00
Send the annual volume and, if you have one, the drawing. Prototype parts follow 4 weeks after a prototype tool.
