A frontlit letter has to be readable at noon and at midnight, which means the acrylic colour, the LED density and the return depth all have to agree with each other. Shallow returns need tighter LED spacing. Saturated acrylic colours cut output. Faces over 400mm need a rim to stay flat.
Retail signage is bought against a landlord specification, a fit-out date and a fascia that already exists. Those three constraints decide the build more often than the design does. See the exact brand colour matching route for how this is specified on a live job.
