Hollow Steel Balls
Stamped water pressured or spun hollow spheres from ∅6mm to ∅3500mm with drilling tapping and threaded holes.
Overview
We supply hollow steel balls in Q235 carbon steel and AISI 201, 304 and 316 stainless steel. Three forming routes are available and each one gives a different seam, thickness range and cost, so the right choice depends on the diameter and on how the sphere will be seen.
Hollow steel balls have many functions across decoration and architecture: industrial floating balls, indoor and garden decorative elements, handrail finials, and mirror or matt candy colour gazing balls after vacuum metalizing or electroplating.
Production Methods
The forming route decides the size range, the wall thickness and whether the seam ever shows.
Stamping press
The sheet is shaped by deforming it with a mould, two hemispheres are welded together, the seam is ground and the ball is mirror polished. Drilling and tapping are offered on request.

Water pressuring
Our technicians calculate the sheet development, workers bend the leaf shapes and weld a closed spherical cube, then water pressure forms it into a true sphere. The seam is ground and mirror polished.

Spinning
Two hemispheres are spun, welded together, then ground and mirror polished. This is the thickest steel ball option.

Problems It Solves
- A visible equator seam ruins a mirror finish. Stamping and water pressuring both leave an invisible seam after grinding.
- Hanging a sphere needs a thread, not a glued fitting. We tap metric and unified threads directly into the wall.
- Small custom diameters normally need tooling. Five standard press hole moulds cover the common sizes without a mould fee.
